Had a really lovely , quiet 4 night stay here. The family are lovely , the lady is a great cook ,( we are vegetarian)massive breakfasts!) I'd hurt my wrist prior to arrival and they helped with that too, a bandage and assistance from their neighbour( thanks moyra) They are kind and honest people . Garden is nice for hanging out in too, with birds, chipmunks and a resident ginger mongoose ! .beach is just 5 min walk away ( go through at sea view restaurant) Nice comfy bed with Airton and a fan. We stayed 4 night in this villa and our stay was more than fantastic!!! The host Shameera is such a great and wonderful guy. The villa is located in a very green garden with a lot of space around the building. You can sit on the veranda and look for hours only in the garden and you will see real nature with different flowers, trees, animals etc. It was so relaxing!! :-) The breakfast is served by the host every morning on the veranda outside and it contains day by day different local specialties with a wonderful taste. Also his hints, what to to in the surroundings and possible activities are great and useful. Thank you once again for hosting us in your small escape from normal life, Shameera. We will really come back to your villa. Promised!! :-) Best wishes George & Sabine

We had an unforgettable stay at Amber House. The room was enormous, with all modern comforts, a very spacious bathroom, and a king-size bed that made our nights perfect. The home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious, and every detail showed how much care was put into making our stay special. We loved the complimentary boat ride to the stunning, endless beach – such a unique and beautiful experience. The boat safari on the river and through the mangroves, guided by Shen, was a real highlight and gave us lasting memories. Most of all, the hospitality of our hosts, Nuwan and his lovely wife, together with their attentive and friendly team, made us feel truly at home. Their warmth and kindness turned our stay into something exceptional. We highly recommend Amber House to anyone visiting Bentota – we cannot wait to come back!

This was in a very quiet area. Kinda away from the busy roads and the rooms are very spacious than what we saw from the pictures very clean and there was a guy named Pradeep who was very helpful and very responsive. We didn’t experienced any issues during our stay.

We had a stay of one night after our stay at the other villa of Shameera. Also this Villa is a great place to be, really fantastic. Once again, the host Shameera is a wonderful guy. He is so kind and polite, he helped with everything. eg giving some really good hints, what to do and what kind of activities are good to join. It was our pleasure to stay in this Villa also and also to meet such a great person like Shameera. Thank you for everything, you have done for us. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Thank you, Anthea and Dagi, for your exceptional hospitality. As per our request, they prepared a variety of egg dishes and a fantastic English breakfast. We must specifically mention the fresh watermelon juice—it was incredibly tasty! The location is around 1.5 to 2 km away from the beach, but this was no issue as Dagi kindly arranged a free shuttle service for easy beach access. They even dropped us back at the villa after we finished our outing. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made our stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended! Boat ride tour is amazing. comparing with others here rates are very reasonable and friendly. please book for 2 night. cannot cover the activities with in a day.

Wow… what an extraordinary place! We stumbled across The Cinnamon Cottage while looking for accommodation in Bentota on Booking.com. We’d just flown in and wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and recover from jet lag — and we couldn’t have found a better place or experience. From the very start, Sanjaya’s hospitality was exceptional. He kindly picked us up from the airport and even provided cold water for the drive. During the journey, he shared fascinating insights about Sri Lanka — his passion for his country is infectious and lovely to see. Having worked as a travel agent, his local knowledge is truly impressive. Our room was beautiful. We stayed on the top floor, overlooking the garden and water — the view was spectacular: lush, green, and surrounded by nature. The room felt spacious with its high ceilings and large sliding doors. The bed was very comfortable, and the semi–open-air bathroom was stunning. Showering while looking up at palm trees swaying against the blue sky was such a memorable experience — as was taking an outdoor shower during a tropical rainstorm! We also went kayaking (free of charge) from the bottom of the garden. It was magical at sunset, and we were guided along a scenic, peaceful route through the greenery. Breakfast, which we chose to have a few times, was served in the room and varied daily — tea or coffee, a fresh fruit platter, and a savoury plate of eggs, bread, or rice. It was delicious and great value. We also enjoyed a homemade rice and curry dinner one evening — simple, authentic, and very tasty. Sanjaya lives on the property with his lovely family, who are all so warm and welcoming. His son is adorable — and their dog, Donut, is the sweetest! Sanjaya also helped us organise local excursions at great prices, which made exploring the area so easy and enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend The Cinnamon Cottage more highly — such a fulfilling, peaceful, and heartwarming stay.

We loved our stay here and the family was super kind! They offered us different fruits from their garden and breakfast was so extensive and delicious (the best we’ve had during our 3,5 week stay here in Sri Lanka). The room is very new, clean and spacious. A little bit of steep driveway for our tuktuk, but the owner helped us. The direct neighbours were also all very kind.
