We stayed in Mawanella at Mystay for just one night, however we wish we could stay longer! A spacious, comfortable room with multiple areas in the room and outside to relax. Friendly, accommodating host family, made us delicious food, and showed us around town.

That is a nice cozy place surrounded by banana trees, very calm, we slept well! The room was very clean with air conditioner, fridge and white bed linen. Excellent bathroom with good hot water pressure that is not common for Shri-Lanka. Service was brilliant, special thanks to manager Andrew who was very attentive and solved all our questions for example when we needed additional adapter he found it immediately. The tasty hearty breakfast was included into the price as well as visiting a swimming pool in the hotel nearby. The great bonus was that you could also watch the elephants’ bathing in the river. A couple who cared for the facilities prepared the most tasty rice and curry we tried in Shri-Lanka and treated us with bananas from their garden. We enjoyed our staying in this place very much! I highly recommend this place if you are going to visit Pinnawala!

This is such a unique place!!! Hidden away behind the main road, beautiful spot. I stayed in the cabin: so nice!! Perfect host and beautiful family. Please do have dinner there, amazing home cooked food. Loved it. The small pool was ideal just to cool down in the hot weather. Absolutely recommended!!

10/10 on all accounts. This homestay was our favourite accomodation in Sri Lanka by far!! With an amazing view, lovely, clean bedrooms (with a really comfy bed), and the best hosts you could ask for, we would recommend this place to anyone! Definitely will make your trip in Kandy, and if you can spend a few days Vipul will happily do tours to local areas which I can only imagine are excellent!

We loved everything about this place! We were only sad we couldn't stay longer. Deer Hill is run by such a welcoming and kind family who were the highlight of our stay. They prepared an exceptional breakfast and dinner for us each day and saw to our every need. They even arranged a van for us to go to Pidarungala Rock and drove us there as a family! 🥹 The rooms and living area at Deer Hill are spacious and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was just lovely. The place is located in such a beautiful environment close to nature, without being too far from the city. It's perfect! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kandy 🩵
