It was high season there (December) and all of the top-rated hotels were completely booked. We stumbled upon this listing and are so glad we did! Everything was wonderful. The home was quaint and comfortable with excellent views of the lake. It's very well kept, clean, and everything works as it should.The house keeper, Ahmed was very friendly and eager to helpl. Gamal (the owner) was easy to contact and had us setup with last minute excursions. The whole family had a blast. Our short stay in Tunis was so much fun, there's so much to do and see. We plan to be back, and will book Sunhouse again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Northern Lake Lodge is a highlight of our trip to Egypt. The site is dreamy - there is a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views and it's in a great location. The stay was wonderful and we particularly enjoyed sipping mint tea by the evening campfire and having a feast for breakfast with the distant view of flamingoes on the lake. Ahmed and the team are super friendly and hospitable, and helped us to arrange several incredible trips. You can't miss the safari tour and visiting the desert on an unforgettable trip with a legendary tour guide! We also recommend the boat trip and taking a tuktuk into Tunis village to explore. The site has a calm, natural, outdoorsy feel whilst offering spacious, clean and cosy accommodation options. It's the perfect relaxed getaway after exploring Egypt's cities and busier tourist sites, and deserves a place on any itinerary in its own right.

Barefoot by Barefoot in Tunis is gelegen in ‘Izbat an Nāmūs en biedt een buitenzwembad, een tuin en een terras. The property is lovely, warm and fully functional. The garden is perfect to chill outdoors while staying in the comfort and privacy of your home. The heated pool was an extra perk. The host was very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable. I ate out most of my stay, hired a jeep driver and toured around all the time and still ended up paying less than what other hotels in Tunis charged. Tunis is a lovely village on its own, perfect to enjoy the Egyptian countryside without giving up 'western' comforts. With the help of a driver, at a very reasonable price, one can also explore the wonderful Fayoum area which is really rich with naturalistic and archeological sites that are worth visiting
