The property is an old manor that has been tastefully converted to a hotel. The staff we dealt with were all very warm and friendly, offering tips and advice for local areas and landmarks to visit. The meals we had were also superb.

Rooms at Loch Melfort Hotel have views, and some have patio doors and a terrace. Some of the rooms are dog friendly. The view was unreal, likely the best of our all of our stays so far. It was easy to get to & the beds were comfortable. They even have 3 highland cows & 2 goats on their property that you can go visit :).

Situated in Helensburgh and with Glasgow Botanic Gardens reachable within 38 km, Rooms Above Sugar Boat features a terrace, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. The property is around 39 km from University of Glasgow, 39 km from Riverside Museum of Transport and Technology and 39 km from Mugdock Country Park. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service. I really enjoyed my stay at Sugar Boat. The room was well-designed, spotless and the bed was super comfy. The shower was great and there were some extra features like a kettle, a selection of teas, ground coffee, and two freshly baked shortbread cookies. I had dinner at their bistro with their soup of the day (red cabbage with sour cream), accompanied by crispy and buttery sourdough bread. At breakfast, I wanted to try their porridge and it was scrumptious. The quality of each ingredient was high, portions were generous, and the price was more than reasonable. The staff were kind and easy-going. I definetely recommend Sugar Boat and hope to return soon.
