The room is truly huge, consisting in the house living room with access to the kitchen, the toilet and the bathroom (all shared) and very comfortable.

The property was very homely with lots of lovely attention to detail. The furnishings were high quality. There were also lovely details such as fresh flowers, snacks, mementos and brochures. The location was very peaceful with a beautiful garden - the owner even made us a love heart of autumn flowers on the lawn. We felt very cared for. The children were even given a gift on departure - Thank you!

It was a very well renovated 150year old traditional Japanese house. Facilities inside are fully modern especially the kitchen, shower toilet, heating and cooling systems, lighting. The beds and futons were all clean and v comfortable. The host, Ken Ito San, introduced us to the house especially as foreigners we needed some tips. He also helped us book dinner at an izakaya called Yasohachi nearby. Superb meal there by Chef Takahashi. We enjoyed the clean crisp country air and the starry skies. Definitely re stay if in this area.

Having our own mini house compared to just a hotel room made such a difference in our stay. It was clean, very cozy and felt like home straight away. The interior design is really cool. Equipped with all the necessary furniture and utensils. Originally I was a bit worried about the futon beds, but it turned out to be quite a nice experience sleeping closer to the floor. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious which was also really appreciated.

It looks like a very traditional Japanese house, in a good way. Also I really like the location, it's on the edge of the forest. The kitchen was fully equipped. In general, it is a very relaxing place. I wish I could stay there longer...

It’s a quiet location, which is nice. First time in years that I have slept without earplugs. Good to know: you can not bathe at the guesthouse. I was a bit scared of using the Onsen at first, but ended up loving it. The hosts are such nice people. They made my stay even better, thank you so much.

EXCELLENT value for money. 7000 yen for a whole house. It has a nice location, right next to a forest and with a small farming settlement with a river running between houses. You can hear the sounds of various birds and see the mist on nearby mountains. BBQ available too.
The house has a retro Nintendo Famicom if you like old games.
The hosts were very nice to us and arrange HALF PRICE at a hot spring in Gero Onsen town. This is my second time at Hanamidori (it is a chain of 3 or 4 houses in Gifu) and last time was good too
