The Naramachi Villa Kamunabi is a traditional 'machiya' [townhouse] in a quiet neighborhood just south of the main commercial/tourist area in Nara. The villa has recently been remodelled with exceptional taste and functionality: every detail has been carefully thought out in a beautiful blend of tradition and modern convenience. There were 6 of us, and we had plenty of room. We loved the 2-story layout, with a large tatami room, a cozy living room, kitchen, toilet, and bath on the first floor, and a huge upstairs with two beds, a desk, and a large tatami area. We slept on 3 very comfortable futon on the first floor for those of us over 60 (!), with the younger family members upstairs. The kitchen was well-equipped (with an induction range, no less), and the bath exceptional. There were separate heating/cooling units in the three main areas, which allowed us to adjust temperatures as needed. A perfect place for a family vacation or a group of friends to stay.

The guesthouse was surrounded by forested mountains and only the peaceful sounds of nature. The breakfast was the most memorable meal I have had in Japan. I loved all the food, especially being invited to join the hosts to eat dinner with them. It was a pleasure to be able to see the working farm with goats, chickens and an adorable cat. I loved learning about the plant-dying methods using local leaves and the couple's deep knowledge about this art. It would be nice to return one day.

Staff was extremely kind and attentive, we felt like we were in a japanese house. The woods surrounding the house were really beautiful, and food was really good - ideal for anyone wanting to escape and rest in a quiet area

Having an elevator and a parking spot was convenient for our group especially our elderly. The host was quick in responding to our messages prior and during our stay, she also prepared some goodies for us as breakfast.

Minshuku Kawarabi-so heeft accommodatie in Nosegawa. De ryokan met 2 sterren heeft kamers met airconditioning en een gedeelde badkamer. De units bij de ryokan hebben een waterkoker. The location is around 1km from the final stamp of Koya Nanakuchi route. Minshuku lady boss is kind enough to fetch me from the stamp site to minshuku and send me to the onsen bath nearby too. Good steamboat dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast. It is a minshuku located sideway of road and no shop nearby. So please stock up some groceries and order the dinner and breakfast here. A vending machine is available.

THE KAKU Exclusive suite & Residence bevindt zich in Nara, op 17 minuten lopen van station Nara, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The care we had and the attention to detail in how this house is finished is exceptional. Perfect location for exploring Nara, we also loved the easy connection by train to Kyoto and Osaka. Many booking venues say they are exclusive, but this one truly was. Worth the money we paid…

Kotorian heeft gratis fietsen, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, en biedt accommodatie in Asuka met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de stad. Kotorian is a wonderful holiday destination. It was a pleasure meeting you meet Ogawa san and his wonderful wife who made our stay extremely comfortable and memorable. We felt connected with the rich heritage of this 130 year old home and also felt part of Ogawa san’s family. Overall, it was a dreamy stay. Also, The Koi pond and garden which have been designed by Ogawa san will win your heart the moment you step into the property.
