Rooms are fitted with a private toilet, but bathrooms are shared with other guests. We were warm welcomed and enjoyed our 2 nights at the hotel. They offer free shuttle to the train station and the snow monkey park. Everything was as expected and pictured. It is good to note that the onsen is gender separated. Also, it will be a plus if there is an option to choose the dinner menu.

Located within 4.7 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 10 km of Ryuoo Ski Park in Yamanouchi, Rakki OnsenRyokan 楽奇温泉旅館 provides accommodation with seating area. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. Guests can use the hot spring bath and the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. It’s a real Japanese style rooms. With traditional tatami floor and sleeping on the floor actually was very cozy and comfortable. Importantly I should mention the hosts , they were super helpful and friendly. They provided with a free drive in the morning to monkey park! And even gave me a ski set clothes because it was very cold and snowing outside. Even if I booked without breakfast, they provided me with 2 days free breakfast! Breakfast was also very delicious home made style ❤️ And important for me was the location/ it’s 2 minutes walk from main station, which helped me a lot! Definitely worth to stay here and I wish to come back again some day.

Located right in front of Okushiga Kogen Ski Resort, Okushiga Kogen Hotel offers accommodations with free WiFi, simple wooden interiors and mountain views. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Authentic old school Japanese experience. The manager is a Kyudo sensei, and we were able to watch the archers competing in the Kyudojo behind the ryokan. Rooms are basic but comfortable.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The property also had two private Onsens that were easy to reserve and really made it a special experience.
