You walk through the village which also was a great highlight. Food was very delicious!

If you look for an authentic experience in a remote snd peaceful place and good food (we had the vegeterian tajine twice), then go for it!

A story by way of example: two days before our stay, we found ourselves too tired to complete our hike to the hotel where we planned to stay the night before coming to Dar Megdaz. On a whim, I contacted Mohamed to see if he could arrange car transport. At the time, we had no idea what we were asking of him. It turned out that part of the road he had to travel was almost completely impassable by car--it was on a rocky creek bed and over steep, unpaved hills. We could not believe that Mohamed came, as he had said he would. He didn't even ask for payment but said guests were like family. And that's just how we felt every moment of our time at Dar Megdaz. Beyond the OUTSTANDING staff, Dar Megdaz is so lovely and comfortable. We appreciated the delicious and beautifully presented food, the serene covered outdoor patio overlooking the mountains, and the quiet, cool room--it was the heat of summer but our room in the basement stayed very cool. We also enjoyed Mohamed's tour of this picturesque Berber village. Cannot recommend this place more highly.
