I liked the location away from the city noise and the ryokan itself with all the traditional decorations inside and outside the rooms. We didn't manage to visit all private onsens (there are four of them, two inside the building and two — outside, in the bamboo grove), but the ones that were located outside were almost serene. One can enjoy onsen without interruptions. Also, we had a friend who has tattoos. And this was the only option she could choose from. So, private onsens are a great addition to the ryokan itself. Oh! And the river view from our traditional Japanese room was quite nice.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the hot springs were relaxing, and the food was amazing. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast and dinner location by the river, making for a wonderful experience (not to mention some of the coldest beers I've ever had!).

The location is amazing and easy to get to from Mishima or surrounding cities. It took me 2 hours to get there from Mt.Fuji. Very nice town to walk around and see local sights. Not busy at all and can give you time to enjoy peace and quiet in nature. Very good value for a night's stay as well.

Nice bath with onsen water, Good Riverside views. Great staff, and great breakfast (starting at 8am or 8:30am). Location is very best the Hakoyu traditional public onsen.

Generally a cosy stay. Maybe the property can put up clearer signboard or more information in the confirmation letter on where is the check-in location. Its quite lost though for first time visitor to locate the check in location

Great facilities for family trip, good location. Front desk staff were extremely friendly. Buffet breakfast and dinner offer great choice of food. Both public and private onsens are very good. Different types of private onsens to choose from. Very clean and spacious.
