The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly our host, who guided us to a stunning spot where we could marvel at the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Not only was he exceptionally kind and welcoming, but his fluency in English made our experience even more enjoyable. Excellent location within walking distance of key attractions. Beautiful view of bay from room and onsen. Excellent service with staff using technology like AI translator to serve you better. Room is thoughtfully furnished with remote control for the lights so that you need not get up from futon. Amenities were great too - hair scrunchie, face care kit etc.

Lovely property in Matsushima. Exceptional panoramic views over the Matsushima Bay from many of the rooms (room-wide windows). Comfortable and clean rooms, lovely main dining area and multiple other restaurants - and a huge lobby with floor to ceiling windows and a plenty of seats to admire the bay from. Nice gardens around the hotel and a very practical and sizeable grocery/souvenirs shop in the hotel lobby. Relaxed type of a hotel, with an onsen and yukatas (included in the room) being worn casually all through the hotel. Free and comfortable regular shuttle bus connection to Matsushimakaigan JR station. Otherwise, just a 15 mins walk from the station (mind though, partially uphill) and 20 mins walking to the central pier for the ferries. Lovely island with interesting historical shinto artifacts just opposite and 10 mins walking from the hotel. Wide buffet choice, esp. seafood. Very nice receptionists and restaurant personnel, who do their best to make the guests feel comfortable and take the extra mile with translations, to reduce the language barrier. Thank you !

Amazing comfort with great views, exceptional breakfast and dinner buffet. Multiple open-air and indoor public baths, a sea view lounge with free soft drinks and coffee 24 hours a day, snacks etc in the evening. Beds are 5-star quality. Plenty of space in the room, modern amenities. Sea view is postcard quality. Wifi is good. Plenty of sockets in the room. There are souvenir stores with a wide range of local goods. Buffets are splendid value, with Japanese and Western dishes made to order in front of you, self-service international cocktail and wine station, comparable to Turkish-style ultra all inclusive. There is an English menu. Hotel is within walking distance of the JR station, but there are also taxis queuing when a train arrives. Close to attractions in Matsushima Bay. Hotel has a fleet of bicycles and e-bikes for reservation.

Room was very clean, the onsen was really good, breakfast was excellent and the staff was really nice and friendly. The property is very easily accessible and have convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It’s a really great place to stay.

The location is the best, just at the center and close to the temples and port. The house is super clean and the room is minimalist and perfect. The bed is comfortable. The landlord is wonderful, allowed me to leave my suitcase before check in and after check out, he was helpful with excellent advice on things to do, he speaks perfect English, so it's easy to communicate. He offered coffee in the morning, which was really necessary.

Very nice ryokan with even more friendly staff. The building is beautiful and the room was pretty neat! The location is fine - 10min by feet from the station and everything is easily accessible from there.

This is a real Japanese inn with onsen bath in a quiet location with garden. Charming hostess who spoke a little English. Our room had a bath/shower and toilet. Excellent breakfast available.

Location is slightly out of town, but easily walkable, albeit uphill. Free taxi to and from the station. Very spacious and comfortable room, but I think we were lucky to have a view as most rooms look out on trees. Extensive range of food for both breakfast and dinner. Free coffee, soft drinks and some alcohol during the day. Seems popular with overseas tourists and families with children.

Great location to stay and quiet during night. Host is really hospitality and speak English well. Share lots local info to better feel in the space. There’s natural sunlight spread in the room. With great window mesh to prevent bugs in and feel the wind easily.

There is no staff. Only the very friendly owner and host. Perfect location. All was great! The owner will very soon make coffee in the morning available. Your host is a fountain of information.

The staff is very cheerful, helpful and friendly with great knowledge of the area. The location is right in the heart of the Bay. It's great that there's a car parking space. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything from the location to the palatial size of the room to the tattoo friendly onsen, too bad I wasn't aware of an evening meal served there. The owners are the real treasure there, I wouldn't think twice about recommending this place to anyone interested in visiting Matsushima.
