We travelled as a family of 9. From 84 to 7 years old. Green Bell suited us perfectly. Grandma was happy and safe in the downstairs bedroom and the kids were happy to bounce up and down the stairs. The Lodge was perfectly appointed with more than enough cosy bedding and pillows. The kitchen had every little thing we needed and we were toasty warm despite the heavy snow outside. It is obvious that great care has been taken in preparing the Lodge for guests and we consider ourselves very lucky to have found the Lodge in time for our holiday. The only caution is distance from the ski fields. It is not terribly far but a car is definitely necessary. Again, Green Bell, Lodge 4 was excellent. We only wished we had been able to stay longer…

Nathan and Akiko were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay a lot, it was quite close to Tsubame Onsen which we came to visit. The nature was stunning so we could stroll around.

Lotte Arai is one of the best snow locations in Japan. The Shinkansen from Tokyo stops close by and the bus shuttle is fine. The restaurants Onsen and Facilities are first class. The snow is superb. Will try to return next year.

This is a small ryokan with ensuite toilets in every room run by a friendly and obliging elderly couple in great location 1km from Alpenblick skifield and 400m from Alpenblick spa with its famous black water pools and great Japanese restaurant. There is not a shared bathroom in the western sense, but a simple but authentic private onsen in house. The hot water and teabags and snacks in the corridor were much appreciated as was the hot drink and biscuits at reception on returning from skiing .

Amazing hotel with friendly staff and in a perfect location. very short walk to the ski area and close walk to great restaurants and pubs around the town. Driver picked us up from the train station which was very helpful. Staff assisted us in finding best way to our next location in japan. Also staff were very helpful with booking us into restaurants.

A classic older style Japanese inn run by a very nice elderly couple. The building has lots of character and comfortable. It was nice and quiet. The location was convenient at the base of the Romance Chair. The effort that was made for the meals was appreciated too. There aren’t many options in Sugi for meals so eating at the inn is definitely a good idea.

A really convenient location with good services. The staff were always attentive and available. We were collected and delivered to the railway station which was appreciated. The rooms were comfortable.

The location for skiing was excellent and the ski hire was just around the corner. An absolutely delicious and varied breakfast was served every morning and we loved the open fireplace to sit beside after a day on the mountain. Mieko the owner is delightful and provided exceptional service helping us with our transport home and her local knowledge was invaluable.

Good location, Japow 1 only 5-10min walk to the lift(good warm up for the day), Japow 2 - two minute walk to the lifts and bars / restaurants in Akakura onsen. Breakfast was awesome! Cheers Miyu and Mika! Drying rooms at both Japow 1 and 2, with tuning gear available to use. Awesome family feel at Pow 1!

1.. host was super helpful, he solved a few of my logistic problems 2. Location was great, 200m to ski lift for suginohara, <100m to local bus ( 1/4 the price compare to ski resort shuttle bus) stop to ikenotaira (the bus stop at an onsen, then easy 7 minutes walk to ski lift). Otherwise the ski resort shuttle is 500m away, can take you to all 4 ski resort nearby 3. Can order dinner for an extra cost. I am sure anyone will leave a full stomach
