We had a wonderful stay at Sinharaja Kurulu Ella! The view from the room was mesmerising! We saw tropical birds and monkeys whilst eating delicious meals. The hosts were lovely and passionate about the nature, animals and reptiles that we could find in the forest surrounding the hotel. The guided tour in the rainforest is also something we would recommend. The guide had in depth knowledge about what we could find and see in the forest! We would highly recommend a stay at the eco resort.

Very beautiful place to stay for seeing the rainforest. Vini is an excellent guide and spots all kind of animals when you go with him in the park or in the village area. He also helped us with transport and other arrangements. His wife cooks the best rice and curry in Sri Lanka! The food comes always in very big portions and that for a very reasonable price. For dessert you can eat the very delicious curd with honey from the palm tree, which Vini climbs every day. The location at the river is fantastic. As a wildlife enthusiast there is always something to see in the garden. But very surprisingly there are no mosquitoes at all. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space. From the terrace we had a nice view on the river. All in all we had a wonderful stay!

Nestled in the middle of vast fields, the villa feels like an island surrounded by nature, offering the most breathtaking 360° views I have ever seen. The abundance of birdsong and sightings of wildlife right around the property made every moment magical.The warm hospitality stood out, especially the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the host’s mother using fresh garden ingredients. The whole experience was amazing. From the warm welcom through the beautiful room with great view. And Hemel , the owner that is a gifted guide to the rainforest. So kind and nice and at the same time knowlagble and quick to spot every living thing. They are a young couple with a little girl that own and run this amazing g place. We loved the lunch that Mama cooked for us on the second day - absolutely delicious home cooked curries, out of this world. And the food the night before over dinner was tasty too. We also loved the pool, the view from the pool and the location on the edge of the Rainforest. But the highlight was our Rainforest walk, we saw so much - snakes, lizards, spiders, millipedes, various birds etc and loved the swim in the waterfall at the end.

Great location for visiting the Sinharaja rainforest. Tour guide is arranged by the hosts. Great guide who can make gorgeous pictures and has a sharp eye for animal spotting. Beautiful swimming pool with fireflies. Definitely go swimming in the dark (in your phone light). Cute dogs. Good food by the mother for a fair price. Use a tuk tuk rather than taxi from Deniyaya, because the road is not suitable for a car. The host was kind enough to offer us a tuk tuk ride to our taxi driver. There are mosquito nets around the bed, use them!

The location of the bungalow was at the top of a high hill in wonderful forested county beset with mountains and valleys. One of the owners is a qualified rainforest guide, knowledgable in wildlife and able to take guests to National Parks and Forests. We went for one night and in the end stayed for three. Anyone interested in nature and wildlife would find everything they want at Sinhiraja Rest.

Excellent location with Sinharaja Rain Forest literally on the doorstep and ideal for trekking. Breakfast and dinners good. Our car and driver could not get to the location but staff from Sinharaja Forest Edge sent a courtesy 4 x 4 to collect us to take us approximately 2km off road to the property which was great.

Location was amazing, very close to the gate entrance of sinharaja rain forest. A beautiful waterfall 2 min from the room. The rooms are great hearing the sound of the waterfall, Manisha makes the best food. Highly recommended for people who like to be close to nature, seeking for adventures or just chill in serene environment.

The breakfast was excellent and the location was superb. I can't praise this hilltop bungalow set in beautiful rainforest too highly. If you like observing nature, there there are forest walks guided by the host, who showed us some amazing creatures, such as the bluefaced leaf monkey and the kangaroo lizard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I saw the one bird I went to Sri Lanka for, right there in the garden, the paradise flycatcher. The family who own the place are such nice people.
