If you never been to Kalpitiya, it has a sense of being on the outskirts of civilization. Here you stay nestled among the houses of the locals and share the beach with its fishermen. Beside great kite- and windsurfing (and endless beaches of course), there is not a ton of things to do in Kalpitiya. Scuba diving is good, when there is visibility. Dolphin watching is also a possible activity, but quite an expensive one that last a couple of hours. You won’t find any city center with shops, bars and restaurants near, but you can of course visit other resorts and use their facilities. However you should know that you have a very good restaurant on site if you stay at the Sea Sand Resort! This establishment is made up of about 10 small bungalows with a restaurant. The bungalows are quite basic, but very clean and comfortable and represents good value for money. Within about 10 minutes or more on foot, you can reach surf schools and beaches. From my own experience I can promise that you will be very well taken care off if you chose to stay at Sea Sand Resort.

We had a great time…. The place is just amazing.. We wanted to spend a few days to have a rest before another exploring of Sri Lanka… You have to take a boat (5 min) to get to the beach - very good spot for kiting…. We travel with our 8 years old son, so spent couple nice days at the beach. Room was spacious and clean… our special thanks is to Ansalis and Madushan who took an extraordinary care of us and made our stay unforgettable. Bur the whole staff was very friendly and helpful with anything…. THANK YOU 😃

Simply Paradise. I stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The resort is beautifully located at the sea, so relaxing and swimming all day at a place where there are not many tourists makes it a special place. The accomodation and the food is really great but what makes it even more special is the kindness of the people. Extraordinary! It was a perfect start in Sri Lanka. This was our first stay in Sri Lanka, and it was absolutely amazing! The location is stunning and incredibly peaceful, offering plenty of privacy, various cozy spots to relax, and beautifully designed rooms with an outdoor bathroom. The food was simply outstanding. The chef prepares a delicious and varied three-course meal daily, probably the best we had during our entire trip. You can even watch him cook and get an insight into his culinary skills. The rest of the staff is incredibly friendly too and always there to assist with a smile. And to top it all off, there were three adorable puppies. In short, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a breathtaking setting, warm hospitality, and incredible food. Many thanks and we'll definitely be back!

We loved the house which is full of beautiful antique furniture and has a cool veranda under a shadey neem tree. Dili is an exceptional cook and we eat the best Sri Lankan food of our trip so far. The family were so very welcoming and friendly.

Amazing place in the center of kalpitiya. The place was very big with a nice garden including some donkeys and cows. All facilities, including food, showers, and cleaning, were at a very high quality, including a high quality wifi connection(which is rare in kalpitiya) The location is very close to the kiting lagoon and is suitable for kite surfers. Will definitely be back

The location was amazing. A little taste of heaven! Not many staff but they do a great job and are very friendly. The food was simply amazing. The best Sri Lankan food we've had so far. We highly recomande it :)

- the location is beautiful: restaurant directly on the beach with beautiful sunsets - cabanas were really clean and with a small private garden and backyard where nobody could see in - staff was very kind, friendly and ready to help - the cabanas and all the resort is in the middle of nature: sand & palm trees - for tuktuk drives around or to the lagoon you can always count on “Isuru” (just ask at the reception for his name/number); he is very friendly, helpful and makes good prices :)

Amazing view of the Ocean and the Kalpitiya Lagoon with a very calm environment. The staff were exceptionally well in serving us with so much love and care. Unfortunately we had to stay only one night and missing the location and the surrounding already.

Received very well. Beautiful location with stunning sunsets. Everything is very neat and clean. They arrange everything down to the last detail, for example, transport (boat trip) and Wilpattu safari. Tip: ask the chef to put together your menu. This way, you get to taste everything (breakfast, lunch, dinner). We had a wonderfull stay, thank you!

Loved the location, massive room with a huge balcony overlooking the ocean. We wake up to the sound of the wild birds and ocean waves bashing on the beach. Good facilities with a big room and extra big bed. Lovely Sunset a around 530 - 6pm Great location for kite surfing, excellent food and super friendly staff, lovely pool, we'll be back soon with our friends. We stayed off-season and had the place mostly to ourselves, so it was very peaceful. Our room was cool and comfortable, and had a nice outdoor bathroom. The location by the lagoon and a short walk to the beach was fantastic (bear in mind it's not the kind of beach you can swim in). The food was great and the staff were helpful.

Very nice location near the sea. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They cook delicious food every night which you can enjoy with the other guests. There is a natural beach close by and a few more not far away with some beach bars and restaurants. It was also possible to rent a scooter from Sandy Edge.
