The nicest family will accommodate you. I got there quite late and they got up just to let me check in and even offered me some tea and dinner. Nice and clean room with comfortable beds and blankets. Close to the Hortons national park. They organized a driver for me and even picked me up for free from the park when I had some trouble getting back. Would definitively recommend! Very beautiful garden too and breakfast was delicious. (They also offer takeaway-breakfast and let you shower after your hike even if it’s past check-out time).

If you like to be outside the crowd just go there few days to enjoy hiking in the Horton plains area. You will be alone and happy in this nature. All staff is very kind. At 30mns car distance from Ohyia. Better to reach it before night as the last miles are not easy.

Really cozy homestay, with all the necessary amenities (heater, laundry services etc.) and meals provided are really good. The host was really friendly and even offered to use the iron to quick dry my pants after laundry as it could not dry in time!

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!! Stayed here for two nights and it was the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. Beautifully decorated with lovely views and peaceful surroundings with many birds to see. They had recently had some wildfires nearby so apparently in normal times you can see even more wildlife than what I saw during my stay. There is also a stunning waterfall nearby (almost in the hotel grounds) that the staff take you to and that you can have completely to yourself or perhaps with a couple of locals. I also did a hike with the staff up to the mountain behind the hotel which was great. Then afternoons spent lazing in the pool, chatting to the staff and with complimentary High Tea as I watched the mist float through the mountains. There were no mosquitos in that area too which meant that they could have the large windows open (even at night!) with one whole side of the hotel open to the fresh air and views. There are only two rooms in the hotel, though they have plans to build another couple of buildings in the future (though also with a very secluded feel). I was the only one there during my stay which meant I had the whole place to myself 😍 The best thing about Capoe though is the staff. Isham, Eranda, the wonderful chef and the gardener who guided the hikes. They were all so friendly and attentive and really made my stay, especially as I was a solo traveller and they were very friendly and chatty (though also give you your space when you need it). I've never had a private butler before, let alone one that is trained in both wildlife spotting and making cocktails! Thanks so much Isham, you made my stay really special 🙏🏼 Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Sri Lanka! ❤️

We stayed with Meena Amma for three short days, and wished we had longer. Meena’s hospitality is note perfect, and her traditional Sri Lankan meals the best we have enjoyed in our time on the island. The setting of the two line rooms is stunning, from the beautiful sunrises to the peaceful evenings in the valley. This was an exceptional accommodation on Sri Lanka. Rooms were absolutely clean, host Faiz was absolutely professional and very kind. He was always making sure we had everything. He and his wife provided amazing food. We had breakfast and diner twice. It was delicious, varied and a there was a plenty of it. Faiz provided us all information we needed for the walks around and even helped us to catch a bus to Colombo. From the very first minute to the end, he really provided everything we needed and much more.

What a warm and friendly welcome we had at this lovely home stay. It really did feel like being welcomed in to a family home. Nothing was too much trouble as they were both incredibly kind and thoughtful hosts. The meals ( dinner and breakfast) were delicious. The rooms were cosy and warm at night despite being do high up in the mountains. A very convenient location for exploring the Horton Plains. Lovely to meet the cats and to see the flowers in the garden.

The location of Hill Safari is utterly stunning. Remote, nestled away in the hills, surrounded by great walks. Steven and the team make you feel right at home. They are so immensely helpful, working out walking routes, always making sure you’re well fed with the most delicious food and that all your needs are catered for. We absolutely loved our 4 days there and we were sad to leave. Strongly recommend staying here!

Great location to do the ‘End of the World Walk’ only 11 km from the start . We had motorcycles however staff organised a tuk tuk for other guests. Beautiful dinner. Brilliant hosts

The location is very close to the train station, you can enjoy a unique and amazing experience walking through forests and have a great view of the moutains. The hosts are super nice, kind and friendly people. They made me felt home.

The view was really nice, just like the room. Spacious and clean. Very easy to go to Horton Plains if you have your own vehicle. Hard place to stay if you do not have your own vehicle. Owner of the hotel is very caring and helpful calling you to make sure you find the hotel.

Highly recommend this place! The location is great, only couple hundred meters from the railway station and half an hour drive to the Horton Plains. The hosts are super super friendly and helpful, truly making us feel at home. Dinner is wonderful. Breakfast can be packed for taking away. Room is clean and comfy. Really want to stay longer.

For me, the outstanding home stay experience of my time in Sri Lanka. Very nice and helpful family, helped with transport and meals. Peaceful hillside forest location, close to the Ohiya Station hamlet. Tea and biscuits on the terrace. Horton Plains visit.

Located in small mountain village. Great location as start point for Horton Plains visit. Host welcomed us with cup of tea and small snack. Nice, perfect clean and spacious room with private bathroom. You must taste host's pancake ... very, very tasty. Fully recommend.
