The beautiful and "rustgevende" location was magnificent, with its small lake and river, the park and nature around, and it's interesting to learn a bit more about the castle's history as well. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. There is a nice little cosy bar in the hotel as well, which serves great pie. Also, the breakfast was marvellous and staff were very friendly, too.

We were walking the Dutch Mountain Trail and the location was very close to the trail. The welcome was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable and big and a very fair price. We were surprised that the restaurant was greek, the menu being excellent and a welcome ouzo didn't go amiss! The restaurant and hotel staff were all personable.
The continental breakfast was very good to send us on our way.
Apart from being close to our walk, local shops and bars were on the doorstep.

Super lovely hosts, very nice & comfortable room with all the amenities you could wish for, quiet location. Amazing breakfast with lots of choice (even a freshly made omelette!) directly delivered to your room!

Beautiful location in the hills of Zuid-Limburg, thirty minutes from Maastricht en 15 minutes from Aachen. Lovely pond-side café and bistro. Nice on-site restaurant. Spacious rooms. Great breakfast buffet.

Friendly staff that was super accommodating to our requests (cot in the room for our baby, extra pillows, late check-out). The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy. The location is great for exploring the region. Lots of beautiful walks in the area.

Easy checkin and very clean and comfy accommodation. The owner was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, in town yet close to trails. We would return to Hotel Vallis and recommend it to others.

This was our only hotel stay during the trip, and it was nice to stay at a family hotel. It was also nice to have our only buffet breakfast of the trip.
We stayed in Zimmer 3, which had a small separate room for the children, which was really helpful.
Finally, it was interesting to see pictures in the attached restaurant (same owners) of the street (including the hotel) in the pre-Schengen era. There used to be a border crossing only a block away!
