Our stay at the Royal Apartments from December 22nd, 2024 to January 4th, 2025 was truly magical. The property boasts a small but dedicated team that ensured all our needs were met with precision and care. From maintaining the pristine condition of the villas to crafting bespoke meals, every detail was meticulously handled. The beautiful towel art and personalized recommendations for island excursions added delightful touches to our experience. Moreover, the stables and lovely horses provided unforgettable beach rides during stunning sunsets, making our stay even more enchanting. A special mention goes to Sophie at the front desk, Zach the manager, Mr. Saidi in F&B, and Chef Ochu, the head chef, for their warm smiles and impeccable hospitality. We highly recommend this experience and would rate it a perfect 9/10.

The communication with the owner was very fantastic. They were so helpful, and let us check in earlier. The place was very comfortable for us given that we had kids. The location is perfect. The apartment is well equipped. It's definitely worth it, and l would book it again. All the utilities were working perfectly. I recommend it to all who want to spend some time in Zansibar.

What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Idyllic, serene, luxurious island resort with incredibly friendly staff, from the General Manager, Mr. Serrour and our host, Samuela, all the way down; all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay uniquely personal, memorable, enjoyable and relaxing. Some of the most fantastic Sunsets to enjoy as well. This all truly made it a one-of-a-kind stay and one we'll never forget surpassing all our expectations. Great choice of restaurants and food led by the amazing executive chef - Chef Giovanni, who was kind enough to create some incredible dining experiences for us. The Swahili breakfast is a must try. Also a special mention to Ju and William as well. Sad to leave and definitely hope to visit again sooner rather than later - I couldn't recommend a stay here enough! Thank you to all at Bawe - we wish you all the very best going forward!

Great location in town nearby the shore and lots of cafes and restaurants around. Beautiful garden with pool and restaurant. The breakfast is nice with a lot of variety. Rooms are comfortable and come with a mini fridge and water boiler. I can recommend this place to stay for a few nights to explore town.

My partner is also still raving about the breakfast!! Best place to stay if you have any dietary requirements as well. The location was very good, directly in the city center of stonetown. The room was big, and the AC worked well. The best experience was the receptionist, who were very kind, and offered lots of good restaurant for us. We got cold water from fridge.

I would especially like to thank Mister Kurwa Uledi, one of the managers - he is one of the best people I've ever met. Asante sana! We had a small issue with the room, and he immediately fixed it, and checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. Outstanding customer service! Most probably the best location you can stay in while visiting Stone Town. 100% recommend. Just book it!

The location and architecture is fantastic, few other places in town match it, if at all. The deep pool was a surprise, not expected from a city centre location. The room is stylish and there will s a very quiet Aircon in operation.

LOVED this hotel. Exceptionally comfy beds and rooms, amazing architecture and old feel to the hotel. Refreshing pools, amazing breakfast and the best location you could ask for in stone town. The only hotel that has sunbeds on the beach. Great ambience overall. I've stayed in the serena before but this comes on top! We skipped some activities because we enjoyed staying in the hotel so much 😁
