There was nothing not to love here. The property was clean and well-located, the staff went above and beyond for us by helping us organize rides and activities, the bed was quite comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was tasty and cheap. With the river running by so close, it felt like we were staying at an alpine lodge!
The family running the guest house is extremely kind. We couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Make sure to bring cash with you, though. As of writing this it’s a cash-only town with the nearest ATM about 7km away.

Green Travel lodge was beyond our expectations.
The accommodation looks exacly like the pictures, it's really peacefull and relaxing. The food is also AMAZING, we even took a cooking class with the chef ( it's not offered but you can just ask Jay or Lulu ).
I did the one night two days trek and I loved it. We had Rio and Mizin as guides and they were wonderful. They know everyting about the jungle and can show you so many different plants and for what they are used for, you are always learning somethings. They have a perfect english. We were also lucky to see 8 orang outan, a lot of Thomas's leaf monkeys, pig tail monkeys and a lot of differents birds. Even in the jungle we ate really well with the cook Padme, he did 5 differents dishes for us. Jay told him which kind of food we liked and he cooked in consequence. The other junior guide Sandra was also really nice, he is still learning english but he is always trying to help. All the guides took really good care of us and were always looking if we needed help or if we were happy. I told Rio that I loved waterfall and he took me to see one near the camp and they were no one except us. And the day after, we took an other path than the usual one to see an other waterfall, and again, we were alone. It was great to be finally away of all the tourist in the normal path. Rio knows the jungles so I you tell him what are your preference, he will do anything to satisfy you.
When I was doing the trek, my mom was really sick. She had food poisoning in Bali. Jay called a doctor and she came 3 time a day to check on my mother. The whole team took really good care of her, always coming to check on her and to bring her food to get better. The price of the doctor was also really cheap for all the things she did. Because of the sickness of my mother, I was not sure to do the jungle trek, but jay reassured me that he will take care of everything and he did. I'm really greatful.
Padang
Kokos Hostel Padang City features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Padang. Offering a bar, the property is located within 2 km of Samudra Beach. The accommodation offers evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. I found Kokos out of desperation, because I had stayed at another hsotel in terrible conditions, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Giti (I apologize if I spelled your name wrong) was one of the most helpful staffs I have ever met. She gave me valuable tips for my stay and trip through Indonesia. Thanks to his recommendation, I discovered Mentawai, what a wonderful place. The beds are comfortable, there is a shower with hot water, and the place is well organized and clean. The location is a plus, it is next to the Siti Nurbaya Bridge, which has a view of the canal and the sunset that will take your breath away. I recommend it.

I had a great experience staying here. The host is a really chill, down-to-earth guy who genuinely cares about his guests. He was very accommodating to my situation and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and a great place to relax after a long day.
At first, I wasn’t planning to do the trekking because it was a bit out of my budget, and we initially disagreed on the price. But despite that, he went as far as to let me set up my tent on his property for free to ensure my safety, which really showed his kindness and hospitality.
One important thing to note—before booking, make sure you can afford the trekking with him. He’s very passionate about it, and there could be some misunderstandings if you stay without booking a trek. But overall, if you’re looking for a welcoming place with a great host and a solid trekking experience, this is a great choice!

The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. We've stayed "only" 1 week, but felt straight at home and made good friends with the staff. We also did the 2-day jungletrekking with Wanda, who has more than 30 years experience in the jungle and knows everything. The food was delicious and the garden and the views from the top room were amazing. If you love nature, for us this is the best place to stay in Bukit Lawang. Special thanks to Risky, Arif, Kiki, Meri.
Location is very good (city centre). Restaurant and cinema are next to the hotel. Value for money and recommended if you'll visit Palembang City.
The location is perfect, about 2 minutes’ walk from Departures. The staff were helpful and friendly and everything was clean and shiny. The room itself was a little dark and gloomy and the air-conditioned appeared to be centrally controlled. It was a great place to stay to be close to the airport.
Perfect place to stay in Bukit Lawang. We did the two days treck in the jungle. We were lucky to see so much orang-outan and gibbon. The room was comfortable and just in front of the restaurant, you can swim in the river. Thanks to Johnny and Kela.
The building and garden are stunning. The swimming pool is clean and in a very private location with comfortable chairs. The room was clean and well equipped. The food on the whole was very nice. They do serve fantastic coffee! We also really enjoyed our breakfast with some good choices. The location is quiet but far from the city centre which didn't bother us.
Clean, friendly place to stay in a good location near to the ferry port. The staff are very helpful in organising transport to other locations, repairing phones & taking you to local restaurants! Nothing is too much trouble for them! The rooftop chilli-out area is a big bonus too! Thanks for a great stay in Padang & I hope to see you all again one day! ☺
Very good location. Near a lot of good eateries. Very close to city center and very accessible to many places in Medan city.
Location is in city centre. The hotel had a very good local delicacies served for breakfast. Room was spacious and aircon works perfectly.
I had a really good experience in this place, the location is amazing, super quiet and chill just in front of the best beach break in the world (Mandiri). Paul and Anggie they are super friendly and helpful. I just felt at home, I really recommend this place to stay. ✌🏾✨
