The house is close to attractions while being in a quiet area and also has all amenities you would need. I really wish I’d booked more time but will definitely be back

Loved the location, comfort, balcony, and the fact that there was a parking spot. Though I never met the host in person, they were very quick to respond to questions and helped us with luggage forwarding to this location. I enjoyed my breakfast on the balcony and also watched a parade go by from up there.

This 4-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and bicycle parking. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. The hospitality was superb. Upon arrival, we were served matcha tea and traditional peanut snacks from Takayama, which were both delicious. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In particular, Haruka provided us with a detailed explanation of the ryokan's facilities, as well as recommendations on attractions in and around Takayama. When we asked if we could buy fruits at Miyagawa morning market, she recommended that we buy apples there, and we successfully managed to purchase sweet apples the next day. Haruka also provided us with an extremely generous selection of Japanese snacks and helped us to select fragrant Japanese incense to light up in our room. The staff were able to communicate in basic English and the posters / printouts in the hotel (e.g. guidance on how to use the onsen & eat the Japanese breakfast) were in multiple languages. The ryokan went above and beyond to help us with our requests. They helped us to book a reservation at our requested restaurant (Kyoya) on the day of our stay, even though we reached out to them prior to our stay. I had initially wanted to ask them to help me forward my luggage to another hotel, but they kindly offered to help me store my luggage for 1.5 days after our checkout instead, which helped me save on luggage forwarding fees. The ryokan is housed in a building that is over 100 years old. Despite this, the rooms were impressively clean and well-maintained, with modern facilities such as air-conditioning and bidet toilets. The futons in the room were also very cozy and the blanket was thick and comfortable. The ryokan has an indoor onsen, which we found very relaxing after a long day outside. The ryokan can also help you light up an irori (traditional Japanese charcoal-fired hearth) although we did not try out this service.

The property is around 3 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, 49 km from Gero Station and 700 metres from Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine. The aparthotel has family rooms. The place is well decorated and very functional, it’s cozy and feels like you’re at your home. It’s clean and fresh. All equipment is provided for a comfortable staying. Really love this place. The location is excellent.

The room was clean and spaced. It was nice we could do laundry and use the kitchen for coffee and light meals. The location wasn't so good, we drove every day to Takayama (~40 min) since there is not much to do in this area.

She will make sure you make the best of your time in Gifu. I didn’t have much of an itinerary so she voluntarily made dinner and brought me to a mountaintop onsen. She will fuss over you like a mom would. I had a mosquito bite and she was so stressed! Her home was also very clean and comfortable. She made a wonderful breakfast for me before I left. This stay was one of the best memories of Japan and I hope to stay here again. Oh and she is very easy to contact with. She speaks minimal English but is very efficient over electronic communications. She also offers to drive you from to and from the station. I really can’t say enough good things!
