As a runner I run even when drizzling and wanted some newsprint to stuff in my shoes, but they offered a shoe dryer (small device with two nozzles and heated air). I'd never seen one before, and it worked like a charm. The lobby is spacious and a good place to congregate for an early morning coffee and browse the print newspapers, including an English-language paper. It was my second time staying at the Metropolitan, and, if possible, I'll be back!

Fantastic location for our family - the hotel was about 100 metres from Tawaramachi metro station, one stop from Asaskusa on the Ginza line, so it was perfect to be able to get to wherever we needed to go. It was a very short walk to the main sights of Asakusa and right next to Kappabashi street, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it was quiet at night. There were loads of food options right on our doorstep and it was a 5 minute walk to the ROX mall with a great Department store for cheap sushi and food. The room was enormous by Tokyo standards, and the washer/dryer in the room was fantastic. We loved having the tatami section which we could section off with a closed door (particularly as my husband snored quite a bit with the dry air and the long days!), and having kitchen access with a microwave and full fridge was so helpful. Staff were friendly and very keen to be of assistance. Highly recommended!

The room was spacious and had a very pleasant dining/kitchen area, where we started our days with a meal together, and where we sat down in the evenings before going to bed. The bathroom was very clean and the kids loved taking baths in the Japanese-style bathtub. If you travel with children you'll know that kids can't eat out 3 times a day, and they need some time to decompress in private, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist activities. The spacious room really helped us in this regard. MIMARU is a great place to stay when visiting Tokyo -- the Kinshicho JR station is a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and there are many restaurants and shops in the vicinity (including a 24/7 SEIYU supermarket). The staff were super helpful and very accommodating.

We had a washing machine/ dryer in our room. The lights, airco and TV had a remote, TV was in Japanese, but didn't really use it to check if I could switch to English
