This Inn was extremely clean, stylish, modern, quiet,and in a good location in the small town, with great service staff and access to 7 onsens in a beautiful garden setting with a historical feel. Kurokawa is off the beaten path for westerners but so worth it, and Noshiyu Inn seemed like one of THE top choices in town. It exceeded our expectations and we were pretty amazed by it.

Facility was well decorated and super clean. We got upgraded to a better room, which had view of Mt Aso. Bed was comfortable. Hotel looks better than the photos.

Nice room, comfy japanese-style beds, everything was spotless. Kitchen available. Restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Onsen nearby, too. Lovely garden/common space with bonfire. But the very best point was the owner, a supernice guy who gave us a lot of useful suggestions. It was lovely to chat with him over a glass of shochu! Super recommended

The property features garden views and is 37 km from Suizenji Park and 41 km from Kumamoto Castle. KK Wings is 31 km away and Kuroishi Station is 37 km from the guest house. The room literally has everything you need. Private scenic view from the bath and the room. Very peaceful countryside. Had a really good sleep. The host was friendly and welcoming.

The location and owners make this homestay special. The latter is at the foot of a historic and important Buddhist shrine and resting place of Kato Kiyomasa, builder of the Kumamoto Castle, while the former are generations-old family of soba makers. While breakfast didn't come with soba, it was one of the best I've eaten in Japan. The space is comfortable, traditional and has everything you may need, including excellent views of the city.

Outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner - some of the best we had while in Japan with many local specialties. The private onsen were comfortable and very nice. Location is great if you're in a car and it's easy to explore the nearby Aso-Kuju National Park from there.
