Located in Kandakuli, 200 metres from Kudawa Beach, Coco Cottage Kite Surfing-Kalpitiya provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a terrace. The accommodation features room service, a 24-hour front desk and currency exchange for guests. Everything! It was a beach hut with an outdoor bathroom under the coconut trees. Just a walk from the beach which I pretty much had to myself! Aby, the owner was so hospitable as was his lovely fiancé. I was their first foreign visitor as they’ve only just opened. They both did everything to ensure my stay was memorable. They even took me into town on the bike so I didn’t have to pay for a tuk tuk. They are great hosts.

The bed was comfortable, the room curtains were dark to keep any light out. Ceiling fan, AC, electric kettle, good size room and separate shower ( not a wet bath) Food was delicious-ask for Black pork for dinner and pancakes for breakfast! Then, a nice new pool to cool off after a day of safari! The location is just a couple minutes to the main entrance to Wilpattu National Park. We arrived in Puttalam after pushing against heavy winds for more than 80km. Tired and stinking actually. Bassam, the owner and care taker of Just Inn, spoke and helped us secure the bicycles. Just inn is a kind of AirBnB or simple and beautiful homestay for any tourist. We stayed that night, tidied ourselves. Bassam rode us in his tuk tuk to the salt flats near by and later we went to a one of its- state of the art - kind of small veg hotel for dinner. We both are lifelong vegeterians. Just Inn is a simple and beautiful homestay. Clean and comfortable stay - like a home - one night or 10 nights - the experience is lively. Anyone who wish to stay there can ask Bassam about our endurance journey in SriLanka. Even though we spent very short time there at Bassam’s place.. a strong bonding was made and I think we will remember each other for a lifetime.. Thank you Bassam for everything…
