The cabin was fantastic and built with care. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the stream and jungle was a peaceful treat. We enjoyed the homecooked meals very much, and the family was very flexible with timing and variety of options. They organized two 4-hour private safaris for us in their very cool vintage safari vehicle that was the perfect size for two people. We chose to do morning and afternoon safaris on two separate days and it was a nice balance of relaxing at the cabin and enjoying the park. Our guide was exceptional as he shared many details about the range of birds and animals we encountered. This was our second time visiting Sri Lanka and our stay here stands out as the best experience.

The place is perfectly clean and decorated with taste and has a pretty pool. Rumesh and his team are lovely people - friendly, efficient and attentive to your every need. The meals taken on the large terrasse overlooking the mountain are delicious. Peaceful and quiet, this is the perfect place to unwind and contemplate nature.

Perfect location, beautiful place and great service. The best breakfast we had. We went on a 4 hrs safari organized by them and it was great. We also had monkeys visiting the terrace which was an additional attraction.

The guest house features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. We loved the quiet location and that it is family run. The room is so lovely, clean and comfortable. Mango Tree House organized two unforgettable safari trips. On the full day of safari a lovely breakfast and lunch were packed up for us. Owners are so kind and helpful. Also, the food is the best food we’ve had this whole trip! Incredible vegetarian Sri Lankan food- we are worried we will never find curry that tastes as good again!

The guest house features family rooms. Nice tent house, really friendly and welcoming hosts. We were greated by a welcome drink, the family cooked us a really nice 4 curry dinner. They also helped us organise a safari trip and gave us a king coconut on our way out. We really enjoyed our stay and the whole experience. Highly recommend.

The small safari cottages had a lovely clean finish. All mod cons available. A very nice trip was organized to the game park.

Many birds singing in the morning and everting. You could even see a monkey swinging on the nearby tree :) We were welcomed with a cold juice. The room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable. The dinner was one of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. Delicious homemade rice & curry. The same thing for breakfast, really tasty. In our room we had a kettle, tea, coffee and a bottle of water. We were just passing through Udawalawa, but would definitely spend more time in Wild River Side if we could :) Thank you!

We got to stay in the new accommodation across the road, so comfortable and spacious, in the middle of the banana trees, surrounded by lush nature. We even saw a toucan! We had a great swim in the nearby river with the host’s kids (so cute and sweet), by the way they do everything as a family so don’t be surprised if they come wish you good morning as a group lol. Of course we also did a safari organised by the host and it was definitely worth it. We really recommend this place - a bit secluded from the center of Udawalawa but you don’t need to go outside, everything is provided.
