I highly recommend staying here, Isaac and his family are lovely and took care of us. It is impressive what they have been able to create in the middle of the floating village. There was hot water and we were toasty at night as isacc brought us hot water bottles (we didn’t need the heater). Isacc took us on a tour around the islands with his traditional boat and taught us quite a lot about the history and way of life. Do bring a book and there isn’t any wifi although we had cell network. It was a nice way to disconnect and enjoy the views.

If you would like to discover the area, fishing is possible in the surroundings. This was the highlight of my visit to Peru. I arrived on the Titicaca train in the early evening, and a driver had been organized to drive me to the local port, where I was escorted by Juan, an exceptional host in every sense of the word, to the island which he and his father had built. During my stay there, Juan invited me on mini tours around some of the islands, where I learned more about Uros culture and history. The Peruvian meals prepared by his wife Amalia were exceptional- always on time, delicious, substantial and inviting. I was never hungry. Juan ensured that my stay at Amalia was truly exceptional and something which I'll never forget- watching the starry nights from a comfortable and warm bed, enjoying the sounds of silence of the lake, being mesmerized by the sunsets, and learning more about the natural beauty and wildlife of the area. This was truly an amazing experience!

He made us feel comfortable and shared his life with us. The toilet is camper style and there is the shower with hot water available, it is not a hotel shower, but it is incredible how they have managed to create such commodities for tourists using the lake water (which is precious to them, they drink it) There is also drinking water for guests, tea and muna, breakfast and.. shampoo! and everything you could need for your stay, plus Felix was very responsive if we had any specific needs we could communicate in advance. There were many blankent available. We got the chance to meet his family who all worked to make the stay enjoyable for us. We had a blast, he was very kind to offer us the boat ride, and took us to our tour location and made all the arrangments. He also booked us the taxi which took us from the station to the meeting point. a Very very memorable stay! I wish I had stayed more, could relax and enjoy the views and being taken care of by them! I wish we had more chances to spend time with his wife and son over dinner or breakfast for an immersive experience. Many hugs!

She truly cared about our comfort and wellbeing. The room was fairly basic. Thick blankets on the bed, decent breakfast, hot shower ( have to let water run for a bit)

A balcony with sea views is offered in each unit. Wow! What a charming stay! Henry and Mariluz were such accommodating and generous hosts. Henry carried our bags all the way from the ferry landing. Mariluz made such delicious home-cooked meals! The lodge had charming landscaping and stone work, and the hot shower was something we appreciated on the rustic island. What a delight, after a day of exploring, to sit on the lounge chairs outside, read a novel, sip on a glass of wine, and look out at the magnificent view. Plus it was fun to look at Mariluz's beautiful crochet work! Amantani Lodge gets a ten out of ten!
