The breakfast was absolutely amazing, excellent choices, yoghurt, cooked, several kinds of bread. Excellent breakfast service, too. The room was lovely, very quiet, great bathroom, very clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious on several nights. I have no idea where some of the bad reviews are coming from. This hotel is top class.

This is a great family run place, right in the middle of the old town of Gengenbach. With all amenities you could need. Sauna, outdoor pool, outdoor breakfast/lunch/diner. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Gengenbach is a small town I'd seriously recommend visiting and it's a great place to stay for a few days.

Amazing hotel. The location is great for visiting nearby cities and wonderful hikes. The room was relatively small but had everything we needed. The rooms have air-conditioning which is nice on hotter days. The bathroom was modern and clean. The room is provided with bathrobes and plenty towels, also to take with you to the pool and spa. The spa was amazing and not too crowded. It's the perfect activity on rainy days. The pool was rather cold as I think it's not a heated pool, luckily the whirlpool was hot and super comfortable. The breakfast was extensive, with some hot items, loads of cold cuts and cheese, yoghurt with fruits and toppings, fresh hot drinks, juices and even bubbles. The staff was lovely. They were happy to help in every way they could. Both in German and English.

Such a nice place! Really recommended! Accomodation was really good, well equiped, very cozy and you can see the owner is taking care with love. She welcomed us and was so caring! We stayed just for 1 night but we loved it. We even had wonderful breakfast. We loved also having a chance to watch the stork nest with young storks which is in the yard :-) Thank you for wonderful experience. It was one of the best accomodations we have ever been to :-)

Excellent breakfast with a great variety of everything, very professional and friendly staff. The highlight every evening is dinner at the restaurant. While the Black Forest in general offers already a superb cusine, the Sonne Restaurant clearly stands out.
