What a find - almost bang in the centre of Ulm, a short walk from the Minster and the Old Town, this very smart hotel with parking. The Akzent Hotel Roter Loewe is much smarter (chic, even) on the inside than ever you'd guess from the outside. The main downstairs room is a bar in the evening (with tables and parasols out the front) and a breakfast room in the morning. It is very thoughtfully laid out and artfully furnished with all manner of pictures and artefacts - must have cost a small fortune. The bedrooms are super smart, too. The parking is in a building next door. Overall, excellent.

The apartment smelt badly. Despite weather being around freezing and snowing there was no heating on and 2 of the room's radiators would not work. No answer to calls. It was not very clean.

The apartment was clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. We loved the open layout, natural lighting, and quality finishes throughout. The kitchen was fully equipped, the appliances were modern, and the overall space was very comfortable to live in. The garden with pool and playground was a plus, too bad our kids didn't have enough time to enjoy it. The owners were very kind and always responsive.
