The best beach we have ever seen! Incredible sunrises and sunsets. The hotel is located in the jungle, so you can see and hear numerous birds and animals including monkeys, peacocks, pelicans. The people are very kind, hospitality is enormous and food is delicious.

After 10 days backpacking around Sri Lanka, Maritime Nest was the perfect place to relax for a few quiet days. The cabanas are newly built, well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The gardens and pool are delightful and the food at Panchi restaurant is excellent. The breakfasts, in particular, are delicious and plentiful. Most importantly we were made to feel very welcome and were looked after extremely well. Madura, his family and great team of staff were fabulous hosts. Madura made helpful suggestions for local sights and activities and was always responsive to our queries. We particularly enjoyed visiting the local Turtle Sanctuary, a mindful and ethical way to experience these amazing creatures. The beautiful almost deserted beach can be reached via a short track and, whilst the sea is too rough for swimming, there is a delightful rock pool nearby. Very highly recommended.​ Thank you to Madura and his team of staff - we wish you every success with your new business.

You feel you are close to nature. Lodge feels new and fresh. Bathroom is nice, a European standard, so not common. But most of all owner and manager give each tourist attention and are open to help. We had a great dinner at the lodge, so it’s worth trying, owner is a man of many talents. Last but not least pool is well maintained and water felt great like silk. Beach is close by, waves were crashing hard but if you swim further it’s calm.

This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

Very pretty hotel, nice swimming pool. Rooms are huge and clean. There is a shortcut to the beach 5 minutes walk. It was lowseason and they were working. In november they expect to be done and have a beautiful restaurant and more rooms as well. The staff was very kind and start late with working on the restaurant.

The staff were so friendly and professional. The swimming pools were nice and suitable for small kids. The chalets are comfortable. The secluded beach behind the property is nice. Ayurvedic treatment centre looks nice although we didn’t use it.

The rosort was magical! It was by far our favorite hotel from sri lanka. Everything you need is there, there are no other tourist on the beach so you can enjoy the peace. The staff is the greatest team you could wish for. The food they offered us was very good and you could eat it on the beach. Both the breakfast and dinner were very extensive. The staff worked so hard to keep everything clean and nothing is too much to ask. The swimming pool was our favorite part of the resort, always clean and so big. We would love to come back one day!

Private vertical split house with two separate units with two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, large living room and a spacious outdoor living space with the view to the well kept garden, pool and the ocean. Clean and long beautiful and peaceful beach. (It was off season so too big waves for swimming) Nice pool and area around. Tangalle is only a 20 min drive with assorted grocery and a wine store. Wonderful calm and peaceful place with everything you need.

No words to describe this extraordinary place. Everything is so well done : the house is beautiful, the decorations are amazing, the room is so nice and confortable, the outdoors are magnificent especially the swimming pool, the meals are extremely good and the staff is devoted to you. It lies on the beach, which is beautiful with very few people on it, even though you cannot swim because of the waves. The spa is very good too.
