The house is wonderful, spacious, luxury and quiet. Bassam is a great host and the staff are excellent too. We had a great time exploring from here or just enjoying doing nothing much at all. It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

The place is amazing, and the service is even better. They take great care of you and stay attentive in case you need anything throughout your stay. Special mention to Olivers, Michael, and Jackie :) I’m definitely coming back!

Das Jannat House begrüßt Sie in der Altstadt von Lamu mit einem Außenpool und einem Garten sowie einem Restaurant. Das komplexe Anwesen ist wunderschön im Suaheli Stil gehalten. Der Pool war einfach nur super! Und es ging sich in 4 Tagen locker aus jeden Abend auf einer anderen Terrasse zu verbringen! Caroline, die Managerin und Festus, ihr Mitarbeiter haben ihr Bestes gegeben um unseren Aufenthalt rundum perfekt zu gestalten. Wir haben uns für eine Kombi aus Lamu town und Shela entschieden, was eine sehr gute Entscheidung war. Jannat House hat unsere uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für einen Aufenthalt in Lamu town!

The location was easy to find and we felt safe moving around in the area after dark. The Queen Deluxe room was great. The staff was caring and attentive. The room was clean. The “balcony” or the open room near bedroom was beautiful, cozy and pleasant to spend time at. There were mosquito nets on the bed. It is obvious that lots of love and effort has been put into restoration of the building.

Zion was an incredible host — so warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The house itself is a beautiful traditional Swahili home, full of charm and character. We especially loved the balcony and the rooftop terrace. Watching the sunrise from there, with the sea breeze and the sound of the ocean, was absolutely unforgettable. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the true Lamu atmosphere. Highly recommended — we would definitely stay here again!
