We had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Barahi jungle lodge on the banks of East Rapti River in Nepal. Already at Bharatpur airport we were welcomed by the lodge‘s pick-up service in person of most amiable Rajesh, who should turn out to be our naturalist guide for the whole stay. The Head-manager himself gave us a warm welcome and introduction into the lodge. We were impressed by the careful sustainability efforts in combination with a five star accomodation with all modern facilities close to the jungle. The staff was most caring, polite and attentive in all functions. The highlights of course were the Jeep Safari, Jungle walk and boat safari in the early morning in the park. Across the shallow Rapti river pick-up point is reached with a boat directly from the lodge. Safar jeeps wating for half or full-day trips. Driver and our guide Rajesh did a terrific job in showing vegetation and all wildlife Chitwan had to offer on that day including a stylish jungle tea/coffee with pastry. Deer, boars, bears, rhinos, monkeys, elefants are just the bigger animals, not speaking of peacocks and many other exotic birds. Safety was always key and we felt always secure and in best hands, either on the car or by foot during jungle walk. Both activities give a very good impression of the park‘s environment. Arriving from the trip with dust and sweat Barahi staff was waiting with refreshment towels and fresh water. A boat trip in the early morning on the calm Rapti river gave wonderful sight on birdlife and bigger animals crossing or bathing in the river. Dinner followed after a presentation of regional cultural dance with excellent cuisine listening to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. Coffee, tea, water was complementary all time with high-speed WiFi. Our bungalow met all expectations with enormous comfort. Wow, this was Nepali hospitality at its best.

We originally booked this hotel because it is a newer property and has a pool. We were delighted to be greeted by the lovely staff with a delicious welcome drink. Our stay was perfect. The rooms were very comfortable with fantastic showers and good AC. The kids loved playing in the pool and were very well looked after by the staff. They helped us book an incredible canoe ride, walking tours and a jeep safari with great guides. However, it was our last morning in the hotel where we saw how amazing they really are. My husband woke up at 4am with terrible pain and the hotel drove us to the hospital right away. Soon the manager Mr. Trilochan Adhikari showed up just to check on us and stayed to help translate. We felt so well taken care of. They really went above and beyond to help. We highly recommend staying here on your trip to Chitwan.

This is the best guesthouse I have ever been to. Manoj and his family are adorable. The food is great, the room is cosy and i loved my walking safari in the jungle where I could spot many animals. I felt like at home and wish i extented my stay because it was so relaxing ;)

Regenta resort has the most wonderful members of staff who looked after us throughout our stay. Compliments specifically to Prastha who greeted our arrival and arranged us a tremendous, flawless room with the most beautiful views down the himilayan range. The reception has lovely hand painted murals decorating each wall. Rajendra, who was a joy to meet and made every moment spent in the resort luxurious and memorable. We have to mention Hemraj who works tirelessly to ensure the swimming pool and surrounding area is kept flawless. We need to extend a massive thanks to the team for giving us an incredible time that we expect to never be beaten by anywhere else. The standards maintained by every staff member was impeccable. The resort boasted the most beautiful gardens with flowers in bloom, again maintained by a talented group of gardeners to perfection - like every other part of the facility. There are the worlds best masseuses on site who can perform a range of treatments to ease and relax you. Our future plans will incude a return to the resort which would be worth travelling all the way over from Scotland again, to enjoy the experience and to see each lovely member of staff again.

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was stepping into the national park. The property is right outside the national park, but it genuinely feels like part of it. The pond and wetland are teeming with life—100+ bird species, fish swimming around (a staff noted that fish are fed with waste food from the hotel kitchen!), and even a waterfall in the pool area. It’s so peaceful! The rooms are villa-style, super comfortable, and have amazing views of the pond. I loved the Tharu-style artwork in the decor—such a nice touch that celebrates local culture. The property is also wheelchair-friendly, which I really appreciated. The staff was fantastic—welcoming me with drinks and flowers at check-in. The food was a perfect mix of local and international dishes, and everything felt thoughtfully curated. Can’t wait to visit again!
