The road around Casa Morey is currently in construction, therefore there were no moto-taxis around, and we enjoyed the quietness. The house looks like a museum, and it also has a little museum room inside. The whole experience was amazing. For solo travelers - this is a very safe housing.

The rooms are small but very comfortable, and the living room and outdoor space are great for a lovely dinner with friends. We also used the pool, and the water was warm and clean. To top it all, the owner was the loveliest host we've met: he helped us get dinner ordered, as well as a taxi for the next day.

We didn't make this request, he just did it. He allowed us to check out late with a very very small fee. Instructed the moto-taxi driver to help us with our bags at the port. So kind and joyful, always smiling.

The pool is another sort of privilege; calm and safe location, comparing to the rest of Iquitos. Julio, the housekeeper, would help me with absolutely everything I needed - driving me to do buy groceries, help around the house, even accompanying me to explore the local area’s gems so I don’t feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. A special thanks to him! The house is massive and would fit a company up to 8 people, but also it’s an incredible stay for a solo person, who seeks quietness and solitude, like in my case. I truly appreciate my time in Guacamayo Azul, and it only leaves me to wonder why it’s not yet fully booked. I wish you that!
