The room was clean and comfortable — would definitely stay here again!

Casa Das Obras is within driving distance of the natural springs of Caldas de Manteigas. The beautiful Poço do Inferno Waterfall is also a short drive away. Casa das Obras is an extraordinary property. An old mansion, dating back to the 16th century, but with all the modern comforts. Multiple relaxation rooms, excellently decorated. The breakfast room is a gem. We really liked our room, as well as the garden with the pool and the entire property. The host, Dona Amelia, was also very kind, who gave us a tour of the property and left cakes, tea and coffee for tourists all day. The bed was very comfortable, quiet, central location in the small town of Manteigas and free parking in front of the property. The town is a good starting point for going to the Serra da Estrela mountains and the alpine valleys.

The hotel has a fitness centre, and indoor and outdoor pools which are inter-connected and surrounded by waterfalls and rock formations. Amazing place in a beautiful setting with super helpful staff who clearly take pride in this wonderful experience. Pools are lovely and relaxing with lots of different areas of bubbles / jets / saunas/ steam room etc. rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Food is amazing with lots of choices ( we are vegetarian) and the even the breakfast coffee tastes lovely! ( unusual!)

The wine tasting with charcuterie tray was superb. We were thrilled to help with grape picking in the morning, receiving a basket of grapes to enjoy munching on. Each family member is friendly, kind and passionate about their business, also helping with the cheese factory location nearby.

The bed is comfy, the room is clean, the pool is perfect, the breakfast exceeded our expectations and the host is very welcoming and lovely including Lourena the cat which is the princess of this cherry Quinta. We stayed only one night because we were traveling, but this place is ideal for at least 3 days as a retreat.
