I have travelled all over the world using Booking.com, including many boutique-type hotels. It is rare that a hotel exceeds my expectations in every respect. This one did. This hotel is a relatively new, well-situated hotel in the heart of the old town, Cartagena. We asked for a quiet room, and received one. The only disadvantage with the room was that windows did not look out on anything and that they were sealed, but the room was relatively quiet in a very noisy city. To have a balcony room with openable windows means a lot of noise at night in Cartagena. We preferred to sleep! The room we had was equipped with a comfortable king-size bed, lots of room and a very good bathroom, complete with a large shower and a Japanese toilet (which is relatively rare in my experience). We initially had some difficulty with the TV, but staff rectified the problem quickly. The AC worked well and the room is equipped with a ceiling fan if one prefers to use it- we used both. The design of the hotel, including the finishes, demonstrates a well-thought out, professional team was involved. I was particularly impressed by the overall design of the common areas of the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The pool on level 4 is small but adequate for cooling down in a hot city. The hotel offers massage services. The companion hotel (Hotel Boutique Casona del Colegio) is available for meals and has a larger pool; it is located only 150 metres away, which is very convenient. For the cost, this hotel is a very good choice, allowing one to walk all over the old town and neighboring areas. Assuming that the hotel maintains its service standards and keeps its facilities in good condition, this is a hotel that I recommend without reservation.

Large room, rooftop terrace with hot tub was a nice addition as well. The staff are really kind and accommodating (despite us not speaking Spanish). Location was great to get to Minca and Tayrona (7min walk to the public market to catch a bus to either location)

Cancun is amazing!

Cancun is amazing! I went there for my wedding and although I was busy with last-minute planning and wedding-related arrangements, I still had a great experience. I didn’t get much time to explore outside the resort, so I would definitely love to return and truly enjoy everything Cancun has to offer. I really liked the surroundings, and Coco Bongo was an unforgettable experience — absolutely a must-visit. I also felt safe using Uber throughout my stay, and the people were friendly and welcoming, which made the trip even better.

Not a place to stay more than 2 nights in my opinion

Not a place to stay more than 2 nights in my opinion Lots of stalls selling tours. Though beach free to access north of the ferry terminal. There is only a narrow strip of sand in many areas due to beach resort hotels roping it off. Lots of restaurants, in the evening a few bars are so loud it makes the area unpleasant ( unless you like noise). Beaches are cleared of seaweed every morning Head south to Tulum or North to Poerto Morelos for better experience

The centre of Tulum has a lovely vibe, with one great vegetarian restaurant (la Hoja Verde) and reasonably priced ahopping. The public beaches are nice and a good place to spot iguanas, but are a hassle to get to and are closed at 5pm! Taxis are overpriced.

I spent one day with a group tour around the city: caves, panoramic tour by bus, historical part and I loved it! I stayed in a lively area where on Sunday families were playing sports, listening to music, eating out and I loved it, The food is very affordable. Finally, I went by myself to the museums in the historical part again: Catedral la Primada, Ambar museum, Larimar museum. I ate at a restaurant next to the Last Columbus's house and the food was amazing.

What I really liked about Barranquilla was that I thought it was Colombias best kept secret. It’s developing a lot more and has a lot of partying which I’m not into. I really liked the boardwalk where the Shakira and Sofia Vergara statues are. The people seem very friendly. The Buenavista mall was fun and a must. Overall great city and great people. Definitely worth the visit.

Only go if you like chaos, dirt, and loud music every 10 meters. This is not a destination if you want to rest and see nice beaches. The people are completely disrespectful and drive like maniacs. Apparently is completely acceptable in Colombia to bring your own Bluetooth speaker to the beach and turn it on at max volume. The problem is that everyone has the same great idea so you end up with five speakers less than 20 meters away from you. This is not a good beach destination at all.
