Excellent, the yang owner ask for the time and special needs for breakfast, the bread was backing just before he brings in the room. Very polite and I felt very luxury. Surprised indeed !!! The room one of tree is very modern style and width, It is just to the lake with excellent view to lake and the village. The swans come in the morning. I think this is the very best room and next time I will use the same room as well recommend to my friends.

We loved our stay at Cooee!! The view from the hotel is unbeatable! The rooms are spacious, super clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing. The wide breakfast spread was absolutely delicious and had soo much variety for vegetarians!

The location- looks a bit remote, but every walk feels like a hike. The staff was amazing! They looked after me and my kids all the time! The hotel has quite a nice pool and sauna- which was unexpected, but really wellcome on a rainy day The garden is also super nice. The atmosphere was so homey and warm!

The scenery is beautiful and I'm sure even more beautiful in...

The scenery is beautiful and I'm sure even more beautiful in the summer when the sun is shining. It is a compact town with many tourists. Austria has so many beautiful little towns that we won't go back to Hallstatt. I'm glad I saw it but a half day is plenty, if you can find a place to park. The nearby salt mine tour in Altausee was a lot of fun and very informative. The salt mine and overlook in Hallstatt is closed in December 2025. It looks like they may be putting up a cable car lift to the top. Check before you go.

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

Mesmerizing views all around and one can spend quality time over here. Very well connected with public transport and can move easily to any tourist attractions. Surrounded by natural beauty, away from tourist crowd and very scenic.

Perfect location, very easy to find , countless free parking spaces. Immaculate. Very good restaurant. Highly recommended for couples. The only drawback is confirmation of reservation needed by verifying your credit card.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days.

Lovely village to visit for a couple of days. The lake is wonderful to go boating on. Hopefully the cable car up to the top of the hill is working soon. The hike is suitable for young adults and up to fit 70 year olds. The food eatery are lovely but check out the ones behind the main street.

Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

The accommodation had great view and the balcony was so Cousy, I could sit whole evening there to spend some quality time. The location is beautiful and relaxing. My kids enjoyed lot. Special thanks to providing such a variety of toys and activity stuff for kids, they really got occupied with activities while at apartment.

I thing 2 days is ok if you stay only in Hallstatt however...

I thing 2 days is ok if you stay only in Hallstatt however you can consider one extra day for Obertraun for 5 Fingers and ice/mammut cave. Hallstatt is a beautiful city however not to much to do around considering the salt mine is clouse. Bout ride is good for amaizing foto of town.
