- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 73 reviewsWe were looking for our first stress-free rainforest experience when we found Wildwood. A wonderfully furnished cabin in the middle of jungle was just what we had in our mind. We did our grocery shopping in Cairns before we arrived in cape Tribulation, as timely advised by our host Sheree. The cabin had all the essentials we needed during our stay. Few cafes and ocean Safari tours office are around the corner (15 min walk). We enjoyed exploring the inhouse fruit orchard (thanks Jason for showing us around) and tasting few of them. We did the ocean Safari reef snorkeling tour. Highly recommended! We also just took time off doing board walks and the jungle walk which starts right behind the cabin is the best of them all. It is not boarded though but gives a nice jungle feeling. The nights were also uniquely amazing, sleeping to the rain and jungle noises. All in all, highly recommended. Will do it again if we happen to be around.Guest review byVenkata Yashwanth KumarGermany
- From US$86.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 578 reviewsWhat an outstanding place! This is a must stay spot for those who wish to blend with the Daintree forest/jungle and most importantly, prefer stay in more pristine nature. We also had a magic feeling when swimming at night in their wonderful pool with rainforest leaves above it and gazing at well visible stars. You hear so much around (especially at night) and may also see some lovely rainforest creatures that otherwise you would not spot. It was a dry period then, so we did not experience any mosquitos. They also serve wonderful food and the staff is fantastic. But this place may be not for those who prefer tiled/glassed/cushioned ambience or music/noise- better go elsewhere so not to spoil the tranquillity of this spot. We would definitely stay there again as it was one of most memorable stays during our full month trip in Australia.Guest review byzilvinasLithuania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 69 reviewsThe property was much better than it seemed through the photos. It was cosy and clean, with two fans in our twin room that were individually controlled. The room had a bar fridge, cups, and coffee and tea provided. The property also has a short trail system that residents can use, and said to have regular visits from cassowaries and Musk rat kangaroos. There is also a roost for the Spectacled Flying foxes on site. As a bird watcher it was nice to see a few species of doves roosting in the trees around the property. The owners were really friendly and nice when it comes to recommendations and maintaining the property! Though it should be noted that there is limited reception on site for optus, and no reception on telstra network.Guest review byYING XIN ELIZESingapore
- From US$230.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 726 reviewsThis place is idealic if the idea of being genuinely 'in' the rainforest appeals, you leave your lodge and walk through the leaves and the first to get to the outdoor reception and reception area. The air con in our room was amazing, brand new updated units! The staff were lovely and the access to the experience of the rainforest was so easy, we'd definitely come back. Thanks to Steph and her team! :)Guest review byDominic ColemanUnited Kingdom
- From US$217.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 494 reviewsThe location in the rainforest was superb. We had a great time exploring the property finding lots of wildlife and great swimming holes. The staff were superb and helped to accomodate a special birthday cake as well as an unfortunate tour cancelation. The restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed breakfast and dinners exploring the area for lunches.Guest review byBolesThailand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 316 reviewsWe stayed in a lovely cottage, which offered a spacious and comfy bedroom and bathroom, a nice porch and a well equipped and pretty cool outdoor kitchen. The host was very welcoming, warm and helpful and I loved the fruit selection for breakfast. My personal highlight though were the sounds and views of the rainforest on all sides!Guest review byAsliGermany
- From US$317.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 222 reviewsThe breakfast was a choice menu, so the previous evening you get to choose what you want. The location itself was wonderful, we even saw a cassowarie roaming around there. Staff was reall nice and helpful. We wanted to be in the middle of a jungle and that is what we got- including some spiders in the room.Guest review byPiretEstonia

Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place.
Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place. You can walk along the long, beautiful beach with the ocean on one side and tropical rainforest on the other. When you walk back into the rainforest you are on a boardwalk which takes you through huge mangroves then through the tropical rainforest with a stunning variety of rainforest trees and other plants. You see lots of butterflies as well as birds, goannas and fruit bats. It is a place that fills you with awe.Guest review bySylviaAustralia - 10.0
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation.
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!Guest review byMichymoo2706Australia - 10.0
Beautiful location, stunning views.
Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.Guest review byJody - 10.0
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)Guest review bykimAustralia - 10.0

I loved how it was close to the beach and very quiet and peaceful. With a little driving most attractions were close by or within half hour. Spending time in the Daintree was spectacular and I found most of the visitors were respectful of the tranquillity. Half an hour to Port Douglas for shopping or spending the day driving up to Cape Tribulation, river cruise, all great adventures.Guest review byKim - 10.0

Great location in a largely forested area, with a wonderful view into, and out over, rainforest slopes. Lovely timber house with spacious living room and large bedroom, and you can experience living off-grid. The verandah is perched over a steep bush garden and was perfect for relaxing. We really appreciated that a stove-top coffee maker (mockapot) was supplied and luckily we had a packet of ground coffee and a milk frother with us. It was essential to get supplies (supermarket in Mossman) before driving to Diwan. Its a perfect base for exploring north of the Daintree Rainforest, not far from the Daintree Rainforest Visitors Centre and convenient for trips to Cape Tribulation, Tropical fruit farm, many forest boardwalks (Madja boardwalk was our favourite) and of course the reef.Guest review byRossAustralia - 10.0
A very unique cottage stay.
A very unique cottage stay. Private water-hole Creek for swimming. Crystal clear water. A wonderful place to escape for peace & quiet in a tranquil setting! Amos was a thoughtful and accommodating host! Fruit trees a plenty which, if in abundant and ready for harvest, you may be offered to help yourself to some fruit.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions.
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0

The whole experience from the ferry ride, meandering along windy roads whilst taking in the magnificent tropical views to our destination was fascinating. The 2023 December cyclone caused chaos with the roads eroding & severely damaged, there are traffic management staff all the way with single lanes & traffic lights along cape tribulation road. Well worth a visit to support the local businesses & Heritage Lodge staff were amazing & our evening dinners were 5 star restaurantGuest review byDebraAustralia - 10.0
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.Guest review byBruceAustralia
