We liked everything. Could not find a thing to complain about. This hotel is new, bright, clean and comfortable. Just far enough away from the center of town to be quiet, but only 4 blocks from the major grocery store and many restaurants. We would stay here again!

The location is very close to the Yellow Water Cruise and about 30km to the rock art gallery. The lodge has been renovated and the bed is really comfortable. Because of the location, we took an afternoon break after seeing the rock art (38 degrees) and went to the Yellow Water Cruise later.

My hubby went barramundi fishing with a small group fishing charter, caught nine barras in total! Explored Litchfield National park and Katherine Gorge with two different tour companies. Highly recommend Ethical Adventures Darwin who offer a variety of small group tours. We did the Litchfield tour with them which was so good! Lots of nice cafes in the city and we had dinner one evening at Ella by Minoli, delicious Sri Lankan food!

Very pleasant town in the Red Centre.

Very pleasant town in the Red Centre. Excellent location for day trips to the surrounding areas such as the West MacDonnell Ranges. Plenty of good accommodation. Good cafes and restaurants. Very attractive areas around the town and along the Todd River with Ghost Gums and other native species. The Kangaroo Sanctuary just south of the town is well worth a visit. See their website.

Having visited Ayers Rock 40 years ago the entire handling of mass tourism has dramatically altered today's experience. This area is no longer affordable/accessible for the average Joe - a meal for four at the main restaurant is over $250! Tours are run by a large organization and cost $$$ Because of the excessive heat, you are really limited to early morning or late afternoon outdoor excursions and a trip to Kings Canyon (which is a real must) is also expensive and requires at least a day or two.

We stayed in Katherine for one night at Gorge View, had a meal of crocodile and Barramundi at the Katherine Club on O'shea Terrace, next morning went to the Katherine Outback Experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and had lunch at the New Shanghai restaurant. Only regret is that we didn't visit the Katherine School of the Air.

Great location and range of accommodation options.

Great location and range of accommodation options. Budget rooms could be improved with a few details eg hooks for towels and clothes; dustpan and broom for dust; central amenities block was clean but lacked soap in showers and toilet locks needed fixing. Camp kitchen was good. Evening meal and breakfast were good and staff efficient.

It is pretty close to Uluru which is why we stayed there. The pool looked alright but we didn't have the time to get in really. The food in the restaurant was good. I am not sure, but it seemed the fuel was relatively expensive, so I think next time I might fuel up a bit further away from the Uluru turnoff. Fuel is expensive at Uluru too. The surroundings were peaceful. Rooms were basic and might have easily been more hospitably set up but were clean.

Didn't visit Batchelor itself but Litchfield Tourist Park was well situated for visiting all the amazing natural sites. One road only through park unless you have 4wd vehicle. Some of the pools aren't open all year round due to Croc danger but one's that are open are fantastic for a refreshing dip.

A better plan when arriving from Kakadu would be to immediately visit the museum and Purple Mango brewery, do the sunset billabong trip, have a meal at the Tavern and spent the night at the Tavern Park, and left for Darwin the next day, doing a jumping croc tour and visiting Fogg Dam on the way.
