Very kind owner who contacted me personally by phone to clarify how to enter the building (as I was arriving on a holiday and he was not in). I haven't seen the full hostel due to this, but upstairs is very basic but clean and pleasant to stay for just a night or two if you want to explore the area. I had shared bathrooms and there was only a single toilet and shower, but as it is a small hotel, this shouldn't be an issue.

Quiet, comfortable, very clean, the room has a well designed space/outlay, easy parking, great balcony with ocean view. The shower has fantastic water pressure, really comfortable bed. I opted to pay as reasonable as I could, and I chose the garden view in the West Tower and I think we had the best location as we had the palm trees and the ocean view with wildlife jumping around on the grass. Location was close to the Pool Terrance restaurant and that was a great experience, and the staff were 10/10. I was surprised how modern the room was, so it was all worth it. We loved the pools. We deserved this holiday after the hard work my son has had to endure.

the living reef, breakfast buffet was yummy and many many options, dinner options were tasty and not overpriced. The hike walk, free snorkeling equipment, rooms are beautifully modern decorated and very clean, They have a fridge and kettle. Beds and pillows were comfy, We were lucky to have a room with exit to the pools and to enjoy watching the Wallabees and Cockatoos also overlooking the sea. Beautiful

The food the view the room. Everything was such good excellent. I loved all the experience. Private beach, the kangaroos (a familiar animal to the them) run free at all the island

Stayed at Mirage Whitsundays on a solo trip and it was honestly perfect. The location is super chill, right by the water with amazing views, and just a short walk or drive to everything in Airlie Beach. My room was massive, and super clean. Would definitely come back!

Loved our new accommodation located in Rose Bay and the people and visitors there. Saw whales off shore. Businesses not far away for essentials and takeaway food. The view from the lookout on Flagstaff Hill is amazing and gives a full 360 degree view of Bowen and the surrounding area. It's so easy to navigate Bowen but Google maps makes it so much easier.

Small island with limited numbers allowed. Good for relaxing few days. Family friendly. Weather was perfect. Restaurant food to a high standard. Buffet dinner not good. Gym needs aircon. Southern end of island not renovated after cyclone. In saying that the other pool areas seemed sufficient.

Prossie is a great little town if you’re looking for somewhere away from the busyness of Airlie Beach. The aquatic centre and water park is free and a great way to cool off. An excellent fish n chips takeaway (Fishi’s) on the main road. Two supermarkets and walking along the Main Street you’ll see artwork on the footpath synonymous with the area. Plenty of pubs to wet your whistle but I can’t comment on other food outlets. I’m still discovering the attractions around here.

Lovely place to just stop and relax, with smaller numbers than most resorts, no children and no motorized water sports, but it does need some TLC if it wants to keep its 4* rating. Getting there should be discounted if you are staying there vs visiting for the day. The day trippers tended to take over a bit so I think they should charge more for this. The restaurant serves lovely fresh food and the staff are very friendly and helpful, if somewhat transient. Was disappointed no spa service was on offer while we were there due to staffing issues.

The resort is in a stunning location with great facilities.

The resort is in a stunning location with great facilities. Unfortunately the resort was constantly short staffed during our 4 night stay which led to long wait times and waiting around for restaurant and pool services to open. The restaurants are also dealing with shortages of menu items at all restaurants which is a little frustrating as there are already limited options. Staff are lovely but also seem to have limited experience in hospitality unless dealing with the Fijian staff, who were exceptional! Expected a higher level of service for the reputation of the resort.

It was useful to have a Coles store near by, ie within walking distance. The Woolworths precinct was about 3 kms away. too far, for me to carry shopping. There were the usual MacDonalds & KFC nearby. I was happy to attend the Baptist church which shared the premises with other Christian denominations. The bus service to and from Proserpine was punctual and the drivers were prepared to drive passengers to their destinations. I found the local people very friendly & happy to chat as I passed them on my walks.

Shute Harbour is quiet, beautiful and has a terminal for trips to the islands and the reefs. It offers no shops or restaurants but by car either your own or ridesharing, or reasonable bus service, one can get to such facilities with little trouble - only 10 km to Airlie Beach, which is of course much noisier and more of a party place.
