We were passing through Shumen, stayed overnight - everything was comfortable. On the ground floor there is a dining room with delicious Bulgarian cuisine. There are no breakfasts, but lunch and dinner are great!

The staff was super friendly and spoke very good English, the beds were new and comfortable, bathroom was clean and the shower is big. Breakfast was cheap and very good, I would recommend it to future customers. All round a Great experience and will be coming again. Again I cannot describe how the receptionist made us feel, he was awesome and made us feel like we were special.

We stayed at Osmarski Houses twice recently, on our way to and from the Black Sea. It's a very convenient stopover, as well as a lovely place to stay in its own right - beautifully converted old farmhouse complex, a lot of thought and love has gone into the rooms, they are stylish and comfortable and all the details are perfect. We had a traditional room in the older part with a fantastic view across the garden to the hills beyond. Dinner and breakfast are home-cooked and tasty, and the family owners couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. Did I mention the view?

Once you enter, it's a welcome to paradise. The beautiful green garden, clean nice pool, countless places to take a rest. The owner and all the staff are the nicest people, they always make sure to make us feel comfortable. The food was more than amazing, traditional Bulgarian food tasted so good, the place is all you need to take a breath and rest. Our best greetings :)

Very friendly. Couldn't have been more helpful, although communication on my part was poor ( 0 bulgarian lol ) We managed. The room was adequate for someone who didn't need to stay there too long and use just as a base. Was warm and had a bed. TV a little kitchenette. Didn't really need much else, so suited me fine.

Stunning, everything was clean and fresh, room was spacious with a big balcony, clean and spacious bathroom aswell, a smart tv in the room. We also had the morning breakfast, very tasty. The staff was super friendly and attentive. It was an excellent stay!

Very relaxed, the pool was good, plenty of space, jacuzzi not working. 3 separate groups of people had lots of space. It was possible bring your own food and drink, cook on barbecue, full use of big fridges. Games room was fun.

Very pleasant provincial town, extremely few foreign...

Very pleasant provincial town, extremely few foreign tourists. English language is not really spoken in restaurants or touristic sights, and make sure to have cash with you for museums, especially the Monument and the Fortress on the hill - they do not take card payments.

Shumen is a very nice place for tourist visits.

Shumen is a very nice place for tourist visits. It has a lot of sites (museums, fortresses), and along the main pedestrian zone offers a lot of places with food and coffee. In close proximity to the town are located the historical Bulgarian capitals of Pliska and Preslav, as well as the Madara Rider UNESCO site. A landmark of the town is the gigantic monument, dedicated to the Founding of the Bulgarian State.

Very interesting if you like learning about the history of...

Very interesting if you like learning about the history of the country you're travelling. Most sights are not in the city centre - for example you have to walk over an hour to the fortress through a park and the forest - so that's a nice little hike, too. Extremely recommended: the Madara Archeological Preserve. Madara is only a couple of train stops from Shumen.
