Free parking spot in front of the room's door. Comfy and clean bed. Nice and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend!

BelgiumWhat is there not to like? The place looks like it just sprang out from a fairy-tale book; it is perfectly located; every tiny little detail is taken care of and yet it remains homely. The owners are charming and go out of their way to assist. We could not dine there because, silly me, I did not read till the end of the confirmation email, which specified that advanced booking was required for the restaurant. And so we missed out on a gourmet dinner. So, future guests, do read the email till the end.

The location is superb - all the breakfasts and dinners with the view over the ocean and its sounds - is just so relaxing. This is definitely a very picturesque location. Grocery was just about 5-7min of drive, which had all the basic stuff you'd need. And also 0 light pollution, so you can see Milky Way with your own eyes. And if you have a good camera on your phone, or a nice digital camera - it gets even better. Sunrises there are also leveled up.

We were on the road for 14 hours and this motel turned out to be pretty good for us to take a break from the road. It has everything you need, a warm room, a shower and a soft bed.

What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big...
What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big Fiddle, the boardwalk and the shopping was great. I was there during the Celtic Festival and had a great time. When the cruise ships are docked, there is small vendors open for shopping and I found some great items for purchase. It was easy to get around the city, although at the time of our visit, there was some construction going on, which slowed down the traffic. All in all i would love to come back in the future!!

we didn't stay long enough to get a real feel for the place. the ocean side and road trip around the Cabot Trail were the best, stopping at the different parkways on the trip. our hosts were great and informative about the whole experience. The roads are great to travel on. The people are friendly and helpful everywhere we went. The roadside stops were very scenic just as we were told they would be. definitely going back again someday!

We LOVED our accommodations, the quiet and the beach! Most restaurant food was very good. Loved whale watching and the gondola.
Would have like a continental breakfast as there were no restaurants within walking distance. Also, restaurants close too early and many ran out of food so decided to close! 150 people at the pizza place (because no place else was open with availability) on a Sunday wasn’t fun.

Not much that can be said other than it's a good place to stop for groceries (a big Sobey's) and wine (NSLB) on the way to more scenic parts of Cape Breton. We can recommend lunch at the Fleur de Lys restaurant in that same shopping centre. Doesn't look like much but the hospitality, chowder ad biscuits are great!

This was our second trip to North Sydney.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

We did the tour first which was a perfect way to start our day. Learning about the history of the Fort and what many of the buildings were all about was incredibly helpful in understanding what we were seeing. Not everything was open because it was low season so we will definitely visit again, next time in peak season!

Although located just off the Cabot Trail, one does not have to drive far to reach the trail at Margaree Forks. That is just what we did having spent several days exploring the landscape which is so good it is best not to rush it. Port Hood has accommodations, 2 restaurants that we visited (the Clove Hitch and the Admiral) and both restaurants were recommended to us by friends we have who live elsewhere on Cape Breton. We also spent two nights at Ingonish Beach which is on the trail itself but Port Hood was certainly not disappointing even though it is not on the trail.

Good place to stay and enjoyed the view of the ocean from our porch. The rental had everything we needed to prepare a meal and shopping for food was enjoyable. We enjoyed a walk around the area taking pictures and a nice shop for gifts, ice cream and other goodies. Don't forget the pharmacy which surprisingly had nice gifts and everything needed for tolitetries.

The Bras D'or area is beautiful and should be included as part of your Cape Breton/Cabot trail experience. There are lots of nice places to stay including the Kow Motel as long as they don't try and put you in room #2!!
We always enjoy the visits to Cape Breton and usually 2 days is enough unless you are an avid hiker. We find the Skyline trail in the Park a nice hike and trip up on the gondola at Ingonish during Fall colors awesome. The whole time in Cape Breton during fall colors, this year October 6th through probably 21st the colors are spectacular.

Lovely place. Scenery great. Food at Main Street Restaurant was very good, deserts were extremely good but expensive. Cape Smokey Gondola was very interesting with great view from the top. The Gondola was a little expensive for someone who only went up and down after seeing the view. There were some trails but didn't seem to be well marked.
