My fiancé and I were blown away by the TWO massive swimming pools surrounded by mountain views - we had romantic midnight swims under the stars! The location is unbeatable: just a 2-min golf cart ride to Zhangjiajie Forest Park entrance (yes, the cart waits for you!). Staff even arranged our hiking routes to avoid crowds. Breakfast noodles and freshly baked croissants were to die for. Already planning our anniversary trip back! P.S. Ask for Room 301 - best private balcony!

Staying at Phoenix Haven was an amazing experience. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated with a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities were well-maintained. What stood out the most was the hospitality—the host was warm, welcoming, and eager to share tips to explore the best of Phoenix Ancient Town. This hotel was simply amazing — we had a wonderful stay. It’s located in a peaceful area with stunning mountain views. The staff arranged a transfer from our previous hotel and, upon arrival, helped us organise our visits to the mountains — really lovely team. The room was very comfortable and offered beautiful views. We also enjoyed free transfers from the hotel to Wulingyuan. The breakfast was simple but lovely, and we had dinner there too, which was really nice. This hotel is a hidden gem and we highly recommend it. P.S. There were some adorable dogs and even a playful monkey that appeared from time to time!

One of the best Apartments I have ever booked. It was very modern, everything was clean and we had a great view on the mountains. Also was there a billard table and the whole shared space was pretty nice. The Host helped us everyday to get to the attractions near the area. If you go to Zhangjiajie I would totaly recommend this apartment.

We had a really good time in Purespace. It was my birthday and my boyfriend and them organised a special dinner upon arrival. The host helped us getting all the tickets for Forest Park, Grand Canyon, etc. The entrance to the Park is a 15 min walk but they also offer a ride if you need. The breakfast has everything you want including chinese food, cofee, toasts... perfect. The rooms are big and well equiped, big bathtub, separated shower, nice swimming pool, enormous windows and breathtaking views of the mountains. What else do you need? Recommended!

Overall, the entrance fees of National Park is expensive as it sold as 4 days entry . Tiemen Mt , Grand Canyon and Dragon Caves adding up are costly for family of four. Dining out in restaurants are more expensive than other city like Chong Qing , Shang hai ,etc…. The nature of both mountains are breathtaking and people are friendly.

A very unique place to be. A must visit place.

A very unique place to be. A must visit place. We loved it even though we can’t read Chinese and speak a little only. We enjoyed our very short time there. Even in the rain it was great fun. Wear waterproof trainers when it’s rainy season as your feet will get wet and it can be slippery with the wrong footwear.

City with very friendly people from the hotel, the Metro and the tourist places. We loved the Orange Island and the photos we took will always give us memories. The food was not any different from ours back home but it was more tasty. It was easy for us to get around using the metro and taxis.

Be prepared to walk and climb plenty of steps. Thank goodness they have escalators up Tianmenshen and cable cars & lifts up and down the mountains. Take your time, enjoy the fresh air and awesome views.

Great place to be!

Great place to be! The cost of food and everything is noticeably cheaper compared to the major cities of china. High recommend it if you are a night owl, this city never sleeps and is great for grabbing a drink and late night meal. There are also alot of hidden gems up in the mountains.

The nature in national park and Tianmen mountain and Grand canyon breath taking. The glass cliff walk and glass bridges interesting when not in clouds. People's reactions to them hilarious. Some of the hiking so relaxing and the further you go from the lifts, escalators the closer you feel to nature. Be prepared for steps, weather changes and the golden whip is valley hike that anyone can do at any age and so happy to see whole hike wheelchair accessible.

The view of the river is so majestic, both during the day and the night! For women, the traditional attire rental is something everyone should try. The booking for Hanfu and Mao clothing are not available online though, but its everywhere once you are in the town.

Although large population, residents are provincial. Lacks the charm of other cities. Entry into downtown area nearly impossible. Traffic unbelievable. Only one entry into main area. Left earlier than anticipated because of the nature of the city. Couldn't be bothered to see more.
