Setting with perfect Nile view, beautiful terasse, heated pool and patio situation. Service was very friendly and helpful. Food is also good. Also, restaurants nearby. Rooms are nice and well equipped. Customer Relations organized an excellent west bank tour with an excellent driver (Maged) and excellent tour guide (Michael). He explained in detail the meaning of the various depictions and history of the historical sites. We felt comfortable and well-informed.

Authenticity-Set amongst the Theban hills and Nile agricultural area. Simple, cosy, mud brick cottage with nice garden and rooftop to enjoy the panoramic views. Abdul is super friendly and can help with whatever you need. We booked a hot air balloon tour through him. He is also an excellent chef and the home cooked meals we had at Nour El Balad was the best food we had in Egypt. Duck, chicken, kofta were all superb.

Villa dream was a very convenient and pleasant experience for us in Luxor. Away from the stress and trafic in central Luxor but accessible by ferry for a few minutes and a short walk along the west bank of the Nile. Standard of the apartment was high and it was clean and well cared for. Security both in the villa and surroundings felt very good, not for a moment we felt worried. Breakfast were served on the roof terrace with wonderful view towards valley of kings and in the other direction a narrow Nile view. The breakfast was perfect for us, and in a nice way gave us what needed to start the day. We had half board and really enjoyed the dinners served in a nearby restaurant with the most beautiful view of Luxor across the Nile. Best of all, we were taken care of by the owner in such a great way that the stay in Luxor and Villa Dream is the best memory of Egypt. Fotos are on Villa Dream and the Nile view over Luxor from the dinner restaurant, last photo shows the delicious breakfast bread.

I had an exceptional experience in Luxor. The hotel was great, comfortable, clean, and with an amazing view of the Nile and the hotel’s garden. The staff was very friendly (at times a bit too friendly and insistent, just to get a tip). With Hassan’s help, we had 4 unforgettable days in Luxor, visiting everything worth visiting, with very good prices and perfect mobility for our needs. Most importantly, the prices were fair, honestly negotiated with a trustworthy person who genuinely cared about us leaving satisfied with the city. We’re sharing his number in case it might be helpful to someone: +20 106 292 3551. Every day we enjoyed massages and relaxation with Magdy and Saba, also very nice and honest people, at the hotel. We’re sharing their number too, in case it might help someone: +20 128 039 4221. The breakfast was very good, diverse, and fresh. The staff, however, could improve a bit.

The owner Nasser and the workers (especially Mahmoud) are very kind and friendly people. They made me feel very comfortable and I felt like I was with better friends than some people I have known for years. They helped me organise trips around Luxor and to Aswan and also we shared things about our lives with each other. My favourite view in all of my trip in Egypt is from the top of the hotel at the restaurant, looking out over green fields to the mountain, and watching the sunset in the evening or balloon rides in the early morning... with the arches and painted ceiling above. I actually enjoyed my time here so much that it made me come back to the West Bank of Luxor and stayed in this hotel again, for longer. I can recommend the Cleopatra Hotel to everyone.

The staff very helpful. Very nice breakfast. Nice clean swimming pool. Very good food. The bar was very nice with local spirits and beer. The real lod Egiptcian atmosphere foamed in the bar..very good location for the highlights of Luxor temples.and the city. Only just 5 minutes.away. All staff members were very friendly, and we felt as being among family members. It was our wedding anniversary while we were there, and the staff helped me to surprise my wife. They filled the room with flower petals and a cake was awaiting. The hotel terrace offers a great view, the food was excellent and (again) to mention wonderful staff, their warm and friendly approach. All staff members spoke very good English.

On the East Side: Karnak Temple is definitely a must.

On the East Side: Karnak Temple is definitely a must. Luxor Temple is ok, if you have time. I wish I had been able to go to the Mummification Museum. On the West Side: Only saw the three tombs (Rameses III, the IV, the IX) that came with the general entrance ticket. They were enough for me. King Tut's tomb still has the mummy, so probably worth the additional fee. Queen Hatshepsut's Temple was just ok. I was expecting something grander, especially after reading The Queen Who Would Be King. More interesting for me were the Workers' village and tombs (must-see and worth the extra admission fee). I could have stayed an extra day just to spend time at the hotel where I stayed for two nights (The New Memnon Hotel, I highly recommend). On the negative side, beware of people asking for tips just about everywhere, but especially the airport (the security screening area, the Egypt Air check-in counter, for heaven's sake!). Visited many key locations in Egypt, and I found Luxor to be the worst in terms of baksheesh. Unfortunately, a bad reflection on Egypt.

Luxor is a lovely town with friendly people.

Luxor is a lovely town with friendly people. Getting around is easy with In Drive app. there are always vehicles available. It's best to use the app, agree the fair upfront to avoid surprises at the end of the trip. For our trip, we booked a fully guided tour of all the temples and sites. This made it so much more relaxed and enjoyable. Options are available on Bookings.com and are reasonably priced. Shops generally did not display prices so be aware of the actual cost of items before shopping around as you might end up paying more than the fair price.

On the east bank, the Luxor and Karnak Temples are a must...

On the east bank, the Luxor and Karnak Temples are a must see. Especially the Karnak Temple was very impressive and big. The souks are nice to get some souvenirs. Shopkeepers are much less pushy than in Cairo, but they will still try to get you into their shop. They won't insist if you don't show interest, which is good. To get to the west bank, there are many boat owners who can be pushy, but there is also the public ferry for 25EGP (you have to insist on this price, as they first asked us 1 USD per person). The kings valley is a must see as well. The queen Hatshepsut temple is nice from the outside, but I found it less worth the entrance fee. I would recommend a hot air balloon ride, as it gave me the best view over the Kings valley, queens valley, queen Hatshepsut temple and other temples, as well as a distant view on the city and surrounding desert and hills/mountains. Taxis / private boats will require some negotiating and also best reserve some money (10%) for tips as it is the standard over there.
