The area along the Odiel River is nice to walk and has restaurants and places to sit and enjoy the view. The city would be great by bicycle. The Mercado is the place to go for fish, meat and fresh produce. Restaurants were a bit of a hit and miss during our trip, so we recommend doing some research (and don't trust the online pictures posted by the establishments). We sent in September and you can tell a lot of businesses can shut after the holiday period , we also saw restaurant were very few or almost no one in them. From start to finish the staff made us so welcome. The hotel experience was amazing with so many facilities and things to do. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The reception was amazing and smelt devine! The entertainment team were brilliant. The shows were so good and they always took an interest in making everyone feel part of the group if they wanted. It was a very traditional Spanish town which we love. Great place. Went on the Tourist train really worth going on. My husband hired a mobility scooter due to having a new knee replacement. Ayamonte embraces a good mixture of Spanish and foreign influences. There are very good restaurants. The beach at Isla Candela is excellent, with plenty of beach bars. The biggest problem with Ayamonte is the lack of available parking.Guest review bySandraSpain
