The smiling welcome from the staff at reception. The cosy attic bedroom is spotlessly clean and comfortable, with air con. Secure parking for our motorcycle. The location, in the centre of the town, with all is activity to observe from the cafe. Everything in the hotel is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served in the cafe across the square, which is part of the hotel, and the friendly staff there make you feel very welcome. Very highly recommended accommodation.

The Parador itself is just great; renovated monastry, renovated with a good feeling integrating old and newer parts, surrounding landscape just beatutiful, divers options for hiking (those directly at the monasatry are not the best, though, and you need to dig through the various options yourself to find the most suited for you), Spa is small but nice.

The building (Pazo) is unique. Very well preserved keeping the atmosphere but yet very confortable. Common areas were as they would have been 100 years ago. I loved the visit were Pazo staff explained us the history of the building and former owners. The breakfast was very good A buffet with lots of local products. I loved the bica and the local meat products. Prior to arrival Pazo da Pena sent us an email detailing the local atractions and places to have lunch and dinner. Pazo Staff was very helpfull. Everything was design to make the experience even more enjoyable.

We loved our stay here in the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Our host, Nacho, and the rest of the staff (Theresa!!:) were phenomenal- kind, thoughtful, and made us feel like we were at home. The food was amazing. The location was an easy drive to all the area’s cities and sites. Highly recommend!

Portomarín is a charming village along the Camino Francés, and we had a wonderful stay at PortoSantiago Boutique & Rooms for the night. We had a private room with a private bathroom, and the host was incredibly kind—she even did our laundry for us, which was such a gift after a long day of walking. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks at a great restaurant called Venecia. Overall, it was a lovely stop on the Camino and a place I’d happily recommend.

Nice little town.

Nice little town. The Parador is magificent and the castle tower. The Colexio da N. Sra. Antica is a superb classical building. It's surroudings and the river bank and bridges are a very nice ambience.

Friendly and accommodating owners.

Friendly and accommodating owners. Although there wasn't much of a view owing to narrow streets the hostal is charmingly situated in the old town with the castle rearing above it. At the price, with breakfast included, I cannot fault the value in staying here. If I were in area again I would certainly stay here again.

It was perfect for me as I was looking for a peaceful place...

It was perfect for me as I was looking for a peaceful place to have some rest and a base for going to Santiago de Compostela which was only 1 hour drive from Chantadel. For me it was a great base as every sightseeing in and around Chatedel is an hour away or less. Very easy driving .

Fabulous location in a stunning building. Restaurant was very good the staff were attentive and helpful. You definitely need a car to tour the area and indeed to reach the hotel which is perched up high overlooking the valley. The views were stunning

Small quiet town. Has all basics. Nice views on green mountains. The rio Sil makes a great swim and sunbathing (on the opposite shore). Great touring through nearby mountains on country roads. Nice and warm people. Quiroga has a great open air swimming pool!

It was amazing to arrive in Portomarin and dip my feet in the river. It was the best foot spa experience I have ever had. Great spot to rest when walking the Camino from Sarria. There was a couple of people singing and playing a guitar under a bridge and that made the whole experience even more romantic.

The location of the Monastery and the building is wonderful.

The location of the Monastery and the building is wonderful. However, it is showing it's age a bit, and aside from Breakfast - the food at the Parador is pretty bad. We ate at local restaurants (there are several within a 15-20 min drive). The entire hotel and spa staff are excellent, as are the waiters in the restaurant - the maitre d of the restaurant - not so much.

We only stayed one night, whilst on our way on The Camino.

We only stayed one night, whilst on our way on The Camino. The room was clean, the shower very good pressure and the beds comfortable. The only problem was a musical festival in the town that went on until the very early hours but that couldn't have been foreseen. The view from the bedroom was into another room, so blinds were useful! Local restaurants were good.
