We didn’t have the breakfast. Drinks were great and well priced. We had dinner, staff was great, meal was good but slightly on the high side for what we had. Location is great if you are just seeking some down time and relaxing time, pool was fantastic. Not much to do in the town.

We had an exceptional stay at the hotel, it's such a beautiful building located in a very picturesque town surrounded by mountains and meadows. The renovated traditional house was so well-done and cosy, outside areas were stunningly beautiful as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and even though we arrived very late, just before 23:00 we were still able to have a nice dinner in the restaurant. Not to mention the fact that we travelled with our dog and she was very well taken care of and welcomed as well. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Very well situated off the main road, good flat parking area, attention of the host, Joannuel, who was kindness itself. He greeted us warmly, showed us the incredible Flour Mill dating back to 1660, where we spent a pleasant evening relaxing. Our room was enormous, really warm, with a huge comfortable bed, a seating area with TV, a wardrobe and complimentary mineral water in the minibar. The bathroom was well equipped with a large bath, walk in rainforest shower, gel, shampoo, hand wash, fluffy towels, and hairdryer. It also had a bidet. We both slept incredibly well. The buffet breakfast was very complete, we were also offered a cooked breakfast at no additional cost.We would not hesitate to stay there again! It was like being at home ! There is a lawned area. The whole property is surrounded by nature.

Vincente and Pepa's property totally exceeded our expectations. It looks even better in person than in the photos. The house was big, comfy and spotlessly clean. It is about a 10/15 minute walk from all of Aracena's lovely restaurants and attractions but far enough away to be peaceful and calm in a rural setting. The house is on quite a big piece of land with a resident pig, chickens and donkeys - this was perfect for our 2 year old daughter who loved exploring and feeding the pig and donkey. You also have fabulous views of the castle and we enjoyed sitting on the patio, eating dinner and watching the sun go down. Vincente and Pepa were helpful and accommodating, providing a bed for our daughter free of charge and ensuring the pool was cleaned regularly. We will definitely be coming again :)

As stated, having stayed there even solo in the past, was a bit disappointed that the twin room was so tight. Fantastic staff more than compensated but I think as a former client, a little bit of speciality would have gone a long way. Still LOVE the place, so special.

The accommodation was very quiet.

The accommodation was very quiet. It was based on a lovely old olive mill. The proprietor was very welcoming and showed me around before taking me to my room. The only downside was the local town which was a little down at heel. The property could not, however, be faulted.

Small city in Andalusia surrounded by nature, close to many other whitewashed villages with a rich history, very cute to spend some time to walk in there and eat good food with reasonable price. The area is full of beautiful hiking paths. If you're looking to connect with nature, it is one of the good options.

Lovely Posada in a beautiful traditional home. The hosts are amazing, fun and helpful. Breakfast was delightful, and the location is perfect for those looking for peace and tranquility, a safe and quiet place to stay, and excellent access to hiking, trailing running, and mountain biking trails. Posada Castaño de Robledo exceeded my expectations for value and comfort.

Alajar is a beautiful, remote Spanish village.

Alajar is a beautiful, remote Spanish village. A few local grocery shops and bars. A great base to go hiking from. Hardly anywhere to eat in the evenings though. We had a great evening meal at Posada de San Marcos where Lucy really looked after us and sorted out our transport for the following days' hike.

Awful damp smell, booked in plenty of advance for the place to have been aired and heated prior to our family arrival. Weather had been awfully wet and couldn’t be helped, but something could have been done to prevent the amount of damp inside. Offer of the fire lit while we were on the way was too little too late. We had to leave it was that bad, couldn’t stay one night and no refund was given. Could have bought on a serious asthma attack to our child. Owner was lovely in communication prior to arrival but wouldn’t settle the dispute as she thought it was ok. It stunk. Sadly photos don’t show smell and damp atmosphere so no funds were given back, and we had to find urgent accommodation that afternoon got 5. Wasn’t easy over Easter break.

We enjoyed the trip on the little train round the city centre. We also loved the Gruta (caves/grotto) and castle and grounds. Very easy to walk around, everything is within10-15 minutes walking distance. The walk up to the castle may be a little steep for some people but take your time and you will be ok.

Almonaster la Real is a beautiful village that we first...

Almonaster la Real is a beautiful village that we first visited around twenty years ago. It is set in a landscape of wooded hills with good opportunities for walking. Set on a hill above the village is the castle, bullring and the mezquita. the latter dates from the late ninth or early tenth centuries although it includes details recycled from the earlier Roman and Visigothic periods. It is a haven of peace and simple beauty. There area few bars and restaurants but, possibly because of the pandemic, there were very limited opportunities for eating in the evening except for Fridays and Saturdays.
