The place is magical, we liked everything. The chalet was very comfortable with panoramic window, the sauna was also great. Inari lake is just a few steps away - perfect for walks as well as a number of fun activities. The restaurant has a great view, also the food was delicious with excellent service.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff extremely kind and the tours really good organised. We came with our 1 year old daughter and had a few requests and the staff made everything possible. They answered every email right away and made sure we had a lovely stay. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature and we were lucky and saw the amazing aurora lights every night! One night they were so strong, that we could even see them from our bedroom. We had a sauna in our room and it was easy to use. We can recommend the hotel to everyone who wants an authentic (and very delicious) trip to Lapland.

Mikko (the owner) and Onni (his lovely dog) were an absolutely great hosts for our stay. Unfortunately, I got very sick during the stay and Mikko even drowe me to the nearest city to get some help. I really apprechiate this act. He is very friendly and attentive, prepares the breakfast for whatever time you wish. :) The lounge area is very cosy, there is a reading corner, warm chimney and beautiful view all around the place. It is a remote location, very silent and just perfect for full relax.

Great place to stay and explore Lapland by bus if needed as it's a central point of access. Easy to travel to Ranua zoo, Santa's Park or Village and other places. If you have kids it's easy to just "live" as the city offers pretty much everything. The 2 museums Arktikum and Pilke are great even for adults. Plenty of food options from different areas of the world. Enough shopping options at least at the centrall mall. You can easily walk around and access nature.

We spent a lovely short break in Levi and were lucky enough to see the northern lights dancing above the Levi. Even though there was no snow yet, we enjoyed wandering in the moonlight and came across a few reindeer along the way.

Great resort place, west village right next to husky farm and horse farm. Decent planetarium also, but they need to learn a bit about running these shows :). Do install the Aurora app if you are there for this. The Aurora alarm in rooms don't work, or atleast didn't work for me.

Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and...

Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and lakes. It is certainly a must if you want to get to know Saami culture better. It also perfectly fits for those, who like nature and long walks. Although it is small, you can find pretty many activities there - from taking a boat trip in Inari lake in the summer period, to visiting Side museum and doing northern light hunting in winter. PaPaNa pub is also a must to visit.

Small town by the sea.

Small town by the sea. The icebreaker, SAMPO, is the attraction of the town. If you are not interested in sailing in the iced sea,walking on the iced sea and floating in the sea, you needn't come here. I bought some pretty clothes in a small shop in Kemi. How happy!

Ivalo itself was cute.

Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ranua was everything we imagined it to be.

Ranua was everything we imagined it to be. We got to witness northern lights and had some exceptional snow during our stay. The Ranua zoo wasn't all that great and the food in the wildlife park was very overpriced. But except that, Ranua was wonderful.

Kilpisjärvi in winter is a magical experience. The village is located in the far north of Finland, in the heart of Lapland. It is a popular destination for winter activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. The area is also known for its stunning scenery, with snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and the majestic Saana fell. One of the highlights of a winter trip to Kilpisjärvi is the opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The village is located in an area with minimal light pollution, making it an ideal place to view this natural phenomenon. The Northern Lights can be seen on clear nights throughout the winter, but the best time to see them is during the darkest months of December and January. Rovaniemi was nice to visit. Nice restaurants pubs etc. Shopping centres. Pricey but there you go. The Bull bar is good as it allows children and the food was good. The guys in the bar could not do enough for you.

I do ski (downhill) but would not ski in Jan/early Feb in Levi because of the poor light. However it is a great village to visit and not ski if you like winter walking or other snow based activities. The restaurants are very good and characterful if you choose wisely.
