We enjoyed our stay very much. We chose a place to stay further away from the city center, looking for a remote and quiet place away from the tourist crowds, but with the convenience of good service and a restaurant. The host is an awesome guy who cares a lot about his customers, and his little dog, Onni, is a real sweetheart. The place is like old time Lapland accomodation. The atmosphere is very calming, silent and homelike. Food is exceptional here and local products are used to prepare them. We got to also witness the Auroras with a small surprize from our host. That night was amazing. A place worth of another visit for sure. Sincerely, J & J

Very helpful, kind and friendly staff with great knowledge of surrounding area and possible activities to do. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Very relaxing lounge and sauna with the best view ever. Owner of the hotel is also very experienced professional and you can feel her passion for the work she is doing here. I can strongly recommend to visit this hotel and I would like to go there again. I had wanted to book Saivaara Cottages a couple of years ago during the Covid nonsense over New Year, but someone obviously booked before I managed to arrange the flights; and whoever booked was unbelievably lucky, because the place is simply fantastic - and we got to enjoy it for 8 days this year before Christmas. Simply put, Saivaara Cottages are wonderful - the accommodation, the owners, the location - everything about the place is superb; and we will be coming again. We have stayed elsewhere in Kilpisjarvi before, but Saivaara Cottages was most definitely worth the wait. Hopefully Saivaara Cottages will have space for us net time.

I stayed in a cabin on the last row which was quiet and less light polution, a perfect spot for night photography. It has an amazing view of the forest. Inside the cabin was clean, warm and cozy. It contained everything you need. The dinner buffet was also nice. Every staff was attentive and friendly. It is a short distance walk from the center and bus stop. Overall, it was my amazing experience and 100% worth the money.

Everything was perfect. View from our room was fantastic. The hotel is walking distance to town and supermarket. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms were well equipped and facilities were superb. We love the shower. We also had great fun at the indoor bowling centre. We Highly recommend this hotel.

The igloos are perfect to see the northern lights. They have electronic mattresses that you can adjust with the control remote and put them as you like it. The igloo was clean and tidy and the breakfast was very tasty and have plenty choice of food.

It’s a small town, better to use Uber for transportation...

It’s a small town, better to use Uber for transportation than local taxi, rent a car would be best. Make arrangements for ready to eat foods as most food joints will close by 8 pm. Wilt app is good for serving food and groceries. For northern lights hunting, better to book for guaranteed sighting with refundable options otherwise.

I do ski (downhill) but would not ski in Jan/early Feb in Levi because of the poor light. However it is a great village to visit and not ski if you like winter walking or other snow based activities. The restaurants are very good and characterful if you choose wisely.

Great resort place, west village right next to husky farm and horse farm. Decent planetarium also, but they need to learn a bit about running these shows :). Do install the Aurora app if you are there for this. The Aurora alarm in rooms don't work, or atleast didn't work for me.

Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and...

Inari is a little place, surrounded by amazing forests and lakes. It is certainly a must if you want to get to know Saami culture better. It also perfectly fits for those, who like nature and long walks. Although it is small, you can find pretty many activities there - from taking a boat trip in Inari lake in the summer period, to visiting Side museum and doing northern light hunting in winter. PaPaNa pub is also a must to visit.

Small town by the sea.

Small town by the sea. The icebreaker, SAMPO, is the attraction of the town. If you are not interested in sailing in the iced sea,walking on the iced sea and floating in the sea, you needn't come here. I bought some pretty clothes in a small shop in Kemi. How happy!

We erre here in winter.

We erre here in winter. We made 2 tours from here and from Rovianemi. One is Aurora Borealis and the other one is a tours tó the frozen waterfalls. We really loved that there was snow here, the landscape was white, and alsó the trees.

Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ranua was everything we imagined it to be.

Ranua was everything we imagined it to be. We got to witness northern lights and had some exceptional snow during our stay. The Ranua zoo wasn't all that great and the food in the wildlife park was very overpriced. But except that, Ranua was wonderful.

Just install the northernlight alert app and go enjoy your stay within the premises , it will sent alerts for the area you’re in and that’s what we did. Realy great experience and so magnificent to see the dancing colorful northern lights . Breathtaking . The location is perfect away from the city however the city center is not too far only around 5-6 kilometers.
