We stayed in Etoille et Moi - the round house located in the grounds. It was very private and beautiful with views over the paddock with the animals grazing. The accomodation was lovely, very clean, with a spacious upstairs bedroom and downstairs kitchen and bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it for people with mobility issues, I am fit and healthy but took a tumble down the steep stairs, please note the bathroom is downstairs. However, I am sure the rooms in the main chateau wouldn't be a problem. It truly is a romantic place and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The breakfast was in the main chateau, a good selection and cooked eggs also available. Very friendly hosts.

The property was perfect! Small pool perfect to relax, big spacious room with good size beds and big bathroom. The hotel was nice a quiet in a great location just 10 minutes from restaurants. Great Pitt stop going down south!

The views to the mighty Rhone river and the picturesque old village of Tournon opposite (which can be reached by foot crossing a pedestrian bridge just by the hotel), the vineyards and the rugged landscape: all very attractive, even in winter.

A wonderful setting under the hills and vinyards adjacent to...

A wonderful setting under the hills and vinyards adjacent to the majestic River Rhone, the town's history is readily on display with its prominent chateau, medieveal church and Marc Seguin's pioneering suspension bridge, all across the river from its sister town of Tain.

You can't go wrong here, it's close to Lyon yet in the heart...

You can't go wrong here, it's close to Lyon yet in the heart of wine country you can go cheap if you choose to shop only at Carrefour or Leclerc, or you can go big at Beau Rivage, Bellevue or Chez Henrioux in Vienne. Condrieu will always have a special place in my heart.

A real find on the road trip down from Calais to the Var.

A real find on the road trip down from Calais to the Var. Don't be put off by its out of town location - easy short drive and park into Valence. Night shuttle got us there by early afternoon and left us with loads of time to mooch around the city. Bonus is the free parking , great restaurant across the parking lot used by the locals ( they would know what's good around ) and a backdrop of one of those soaring castles....

Went out on a Monday evening. Virtually nothing was open. Nowhere to get a beer in a bar at all. Only one restaurant was open (the Dragon d’or) so we went there. Food was very good and they served beer. Everywhere else was closed.

A very pleasant stop on the famous "Route Nationale 7" mythic French vacation highway. Also easily accessible from the major highway. Tain is a wonderful town, right on the Rhone River, with world-famous vineyards. Check out some of the wine bars operated by the vineyards in the center of town. Wonerful market on Saturday mornings. Stroll across the pedestrian bridge to the neighboring town of Tournon. Excellent restaurants in both towns.

The shower door was missing, management knew it, and still...

The shower door was missing, management knew it, and still rented the room as an upgrade. When pointed out, they did not give any discount. Parking was very tight for 7 cars only. Billed 10 euros after reserving a free place.
