One of the best hotel experiences during our trip! The hotel location is just perfect: the beach, the little city center and the boat station is right in front of the door. We felt very welcomed by the lovely staff - and our dog as well! The room was comfy and we even had a bit of sea view <3 What we want to highlight is the exceptional service beyond our stay: we have been offered to use the parking lot and the bathroom the whole day even after check-out. So we had the possibility to go on a boat trip before leaving in the evening. We really appreciated that and would totally recommend the hotel to our friends!

This wonderful hotel is located in a beautiful residential area where you will find many stunning 19th Century Villas. To get to the centre of Arcachon you have to walk through Parc Mauresque and takes about 15 minutes. This is an elevated area and walking back from town is a nice challenge. The hotel reception was very friendly and informative. Our stay was out of season so we weren't surprised to see renovations taking place on both the inside on the inside and outside. There are many villas in the area so take time out to walk around the side streets. Free wifi and off road parking was a bonus.

The house in itself is rich of charme and atmosphere, the location is perfect, our room was a tiny one but lovely. unfortunately we had no chance to try the restaurant that looked very good but...the plus was from the 2 young (boy and girl) at the reception. They have been so smiling and familiar that we bring back in our hearts. Grazie, Micaela and Bob

Bordeaux is a perfect place to experience a classic French...

Bordeaux is a perfect place to experience a classic French city on foot (it very much favours the pedestrian with its wide walkways and carefully structured tram system). Situated on the banks of a beautiful river, it has so much to offer - art and culture, entertainment venues, daily markets offering fresh food and other produce, and an array of shopping areas ranging from high end brands, to more familiar 'high street' names and a wealth of individual and specialist shops. And of course, don't forget the many, many restaurants and other outlets from which to indulge in every type of food and drink from France and many other countries - with prices to suit every purse. It has a modern, efficient and very affordable tram system, linking the centre to the airport and train station, as well as further afield. Plus there's good bus transport and car parking. In spite of its popularity, it is a very clean city taking pride in its appearance. It feels safe and friendly. Overall, Bordeaux is just beautiful to look at, with fabulous buildings and relaxed cafe (and wine) culture at every turn. Come and indulge - but be prepared to rack up those steps as there is so much to do!!

Best to have a car. We used our car very day to drive to various vineyards and wineries on both the left bank and the right bank. The location of the chateau is near the main highway and easy to access. There were ample local shops and restaurants within a short drive from the chateau to grab cheese, bread, and supplies.

A very nice apartment with excellent facilities, and ideal for a couple or lone traveller. Located in a pleasant neighbourhood, and close to some local stores. Nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk with frequent services to the main rail station (less than 10 minutes journey time) and to the city centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay- Bordeaux is a beautiful city and there is much for the visitor to enjoy. Fabrice is a friendly and helpful host, and his excellent English made communication very easy.

This was a total disaster! No keys available where they informed to be. Finally in: no cleaning at all, no bed ware, rubbish everywhere. Horrible staff, not even came to see us. This is a review of both Bruges (Bordeaux) and the surrounding area. We didn't really explore the immediate area around Bruges but visited Bordeaux via the tram from there often. Adored the old city center. The reflection pool (Mirror D'Eau) near the Place de la Bourse was amazing, especially for kids. When we first arrived I was a bit disappointed as there was such a thin film of water but we stuck around just in case and sure enough in about 20 minutes the water started to seep up and covered the area with about an inch of water so the kids (and adults) were soon splashing about. We explored the town and wandered the shopping at Rue Saint Catherine. We loved the area but be forewarned: restaurants typically close midday service around 2:30 and re-open for dinner around 5 or 6 in the evening. You can still find the odd brasserie open but expect to have to hunt around to find a spot of lunch if you are past this time. Other highlights of our trip: * Grande Dune du Pilat (1.5 hour drive) absolute must visit to see Europes tallest and largest sand dune. Kids LOVE it but not for the elderly or those who have mobility issues as it involves strenuous hiking. * Lascaux Caves (2.0 hour drive) another must see for the 20K year old Cro-magnon cave paintings there. * Saint-Émilion (1 hour drive) is somewhat between the caves and Bordeaux so you can do both in one day. This is a famous medieval town renown for its wine and is a beautiful region to visit. * Cite du Vin: The wine museum in Bordeaux that will tell you a lot about the history of wine and specifically the region. Might bore the kids though. I am sure we missed a ton of things to see but in fairness we only had a week so I would love to go back and do some more exploring.
