- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,190 reviewsWhat a gem of a hotel! A couple of minutes work from the historic city centre, with the hotel itself being a beautiful historic building. Our room was wonderful, extremely sizeable bathroom and beautiful bedroom. We stayed here for one night with our dog on our way back to the Netherlands and it was the perfect choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. An added bonus was that we were able to utilise underground parking in the city centre (with charging stations for our electric car), with payment for the parking being done at the hotel. This allowed us to leave a lot of our luggage from our road trip safely in the car. We didn't have the breakfast, but it looked wonderful! I will definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Orleans!Guest review byJanaNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.6Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 1,281 reviewsMy compliments to Thamcia(hope I spelled it correctly) for been very courteous and professional. She went out of her way to get information for me regarding a laundromat, tram and bus service and restaurants. Next morning I missed breakfast and she very kindly made me coffee and gave me croissants. I was travelling by motorcycle to Caen and having something to eat before I headed off was great. It may not be a 5star hotel but having staff that are professional and courteous makes this one. Thank you for all.Guest review byandrewVietnam

Located on the banks of the Loire River, Orléans is a historic city known for its strong connection to Joanne d'Arc, who famously liberated it in 1429. The city center offers nice streets, timber-framed houses, and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for walking and exploring. Main highlights include: Sainte-Croix Cathedral – Gothic architecture Place du Martroi – central square with Joan of Arc’s statue Old Town – charming streets, shops, and caffés Museums – Museum of Fine Arts and Joan of Arc House Surroundings worth exploring: Loire Valley Castles – Chambord, Blois, Chenonceaux, Amboise, Sully, (short drive away) Wine routes & vineyards – ideal for tastings and day trips A great base for discovering the heart of the Loire Valley — with a perfect mix of culture, history, and countryside relaxation.Guest review byIustinianRomania - 6.0

I needed to find a bed without any dinner or other facilities late in the day and only for the night as would be moving on early the next day. Therefore cost was the primary concern. It was cheap and the bed comfortable, though the room noisy when other guests were moving around the building or noisy in their rooms. Don't take breakfast option, it was poor value and not as you might expect when at reception. Behind reception is a pleasant looking restaurant, however breakfast for this hotel is in a side room which is not so pleasant and with not a great selection of food and drink. Check in staff did not make this clear when option offered at check in.Guest review byPatrickGermany - 4.0

Beaugency is a charming town on the banks of The Loire. It is very pretty and well maintained and the little canals which run along some of the streets are lovely. The Grand Hotel de L'abbaye is definitely the place to stay and Restaurant l idée is most definitely the place to eat. Have visited this charming place before and will be back in the future!Guest review byGillianUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Meung-sur-Loir is a very pretty medieval town and we would have loved to stay longer there so we could have seen more of the local sites e.g. the castle. Our only disappointment with the town was that there was nowhere open to eat out on a Tuesday night so we had to go to our accommodation to cook. Luckily we had the foresight to take pasta with us in case of such an emergency. Luckily we had booked an apartment with cooking facilities and not just a room.Guest review byGregoryAustralia - 10.0
Friendly welcome and local information.
Friendly welcome and local information. Good location, with free parking on site. We took the inclusive breakfast and evening meal option, which was good value, and the evening meals were delicious, and gave us an insight into Lebanese cuisine. The host was friendly and helpful, speaking excellent English, and shared his recipes with us. A good centre for visiting the many beautiful châteaux and towns in the Eastern Loire area. Would thoroughly recommend for a short stay.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The town is lively and full of young energetic people of color. It felt like home. It is difficult to find people that don't speak French here so be prepared to do quite a bit of Google Translate. This however is not a complaint just an observation for non-French speaking people. Food establishments are diverse and if you love African food I'd recommend placing aon order through Uber eats. I'd recommend a vendor called Foodside. Very yummy filling food. There's a water body nearby where a lof of the young people hang out its quite peaceful and not unruly. I felt somewhat safe but one should always be careful and vigilant wherever they travel to. The streets are quite thin and its difficult to find parking so leave your car the the hotel and explore the town on foot or public transport.Guest review byNimohKenya - 10.0
I stayed overnight on my way back to Calais.
I stayed overnight on my way back to Calais. I wish that I had spent a day or two exploring Orleans. There was so much character and history in the city. Also, the walks along the riverside looked beautiful. I will definitely come back for a longer time to experience more that this city has to offer. Try talking along the Rue du Faubourg de Bourgogne. There are some amazing buildings and a vast array of small eateries and bars. And the well-worn cobbled streets seem to take you back in time. So much to see.Guest review byJeffreyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The area has changed a lot in the 20 years we’ve been driving through it. It now has a tram and it seems very busy with commuters and people being dropped off Flix buses. We were told that it is now considered a ‘mini paris’. I think that is a little over-ambitious!Guest review byshannonUnited Kingdom
