United KingdomIdeal location for cycling in Pyrenees. Accommodation was really clean and exactly as described. Welcome instructions where spot on and easy to understand. It had everything we needed. Shower was superb after a day's cycling. Bonus was having a washer, li en provided and somewhere safe for the bikes we hired. Really enjoyed our stay.

FranceThe apartment is on the edge of Luz St Sauveur, in a group of blocks, next to a mountain stream - very nice to hear the sound of water. Everything necessary is provided - oven, microwave, toaster, washing machine, dishwasher, cleaning products, kettle, tea towels etc. The balcony is a good size and has views of the stream and footbridge. Patricia was easy to communicate with by message.

At first sight, the complex does not feel very warm. It diesn’t look like a hotel at all, more like a congress centre stuck in the late seventies. But looks can be decieving. The place is old, but the room was fine, with great view. The shower was perfect! The breakfast an diner buffets were nothing fancy, but very complete and tasteful. The best thing of all was the pool, simply very good. Also the staff were very friendly and helpfull. If you don’t mind spending time in the midst of dozens of senior citizens, this is the place to be. And not expensive too.

Very quiet this time of year( early to mid October) not many...
Very quiet this time of year( early to mid October) not many eateries open as between seasons. Seasons appear to be summer for walking and winter for skiing. Autumn for repairs. Couple of bars open and usual tourist shops. Good butchers and bakers and supermarket.
Good base for walks around the area. Pretty town.
Take picnics and drinks with you if walking as opening hours for cafes / restaurants limited in areas you may visit.

I love this village, very well situated between Pic du Midi, Gavarnie, and Pont d'Espagne directions. It has everything you need as a tourist: supermarkets and specialty stores (wine, cheese, etc), restaurants, a small market, a tourist office, parks, and several walking trails around the valley (ask for a map in the tourist office), a spa center... And it has beautiful architecture. Also a center for bike tourism and ski/snowboarding. During summer an animal center is open for families.

The Templar fortified church: amazing, though nothing to do with the Templars.
The little castle up the hill. A scramble, but a great view.
Closest town to utterly spectacular Cirque du Gavarnie; close enough to gorgeous Pont d'Espagne (drive round to Cauterets for access).
Cheerful pizza Ariane. Delicious fish soup and crevettes aioli at Piff.
