Rooms were large and modern and well decorated. The biggest shower we had and they provided high quality the personal products to use. The Manager was a great young man who took care of everything and they provided a nice breakfast basket and some treats. I was pleasantly surprised by a room above a bar/restaurant, it was quiet and very clean.

Must see's. Stirling Castle and the Town Jail. Perfectly situated for getting around, Wallace Monument, Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies and the Trossachs all within driving distance. Nice shopping centre in the town as well as some interesting independent shops.

Plenty to see but a visit to the Kelpies is something to see close up, point to notice is the free car park is a fairly long walk and the nearer one is only £3.80 or so all day for a car and is still a little way away but the size of the Kelpies is deceptive and its not till your close the true size is revealed. Falkirk wheel is also worth a visit, we happened to choose a day with poor weather but went on the boat ride on the lift and our friends really enjoyed it. Parking bays (fairly rough) looped into each other up the steep hill with lots of disabled spaces down by the bottom roundabout.

Location is very good a stone throw away from Falkirk. Room decor from the 80s. Ground floor external rooms are noisy. Price was decent with buffet breakfast included. However breakfast needs to be covered on display, bacon dried out and was too hard to eat...not crispy ! Staff were very helpful.

The town of Bo'ness looks pretty enough but for reasons I do not really understand is almost completely dead - the town centre is barely open even during the day and one can only assume the adjacent Lidl and Tesco superstores have wiped it out. That doesn't explain the actual absence of most lifeforms and I can only believe that the term 'dormitory town' is almost a literal description! This is a shame because there is a fantastic park between the railway and the estuary, the world class Bo'ness & Kinneil railway attracts hundreds of visitors and there appears to be a good motor museum that I would have liked to check out. Something has clearly gone wrong - on a late summer evening, even in Scotland, the town should have been buzzing as many other attractive shoreline towns do...

A walk on a winter night, Doune appeared to be a nice country town. Very tidy,no obvious litter lying around. For the size of the town,a lot of privately owned shops and businessess. As my business was out of town, I never seen much more! I will be sure to return, hopefully with more time to explore.
