This was my second visit. The hotel is situated right in the centre, near to everything. Free parking, lovely rooms, food is great, breakfast is exceptional. Food is available from the bar area throughout the day. Recommend you book for dinner in the small restaurant, it gets booked quickly. Lovely lounge and bar area. Lots of small thoughtful details. Owners are lovely.

Hunters Inn is the perfect English Country Inn located in an unspoilt part of the world. I first stopped here in 1987 with my parents and just have to keep returning - but our last trip in late November 2025 was the best ever as there is a new landlord supported by a great family team. Blazing Log Fires, lovely food and simply the most tasteful Christmas decorations and lights you could ever expect. The forest and cliff walks are superb and you don’t need to move the car! We will return!

I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place to stay in the heart of Exmoor. Shabby chic, charming, and expertly run. Andrew had boundless energy and is a font of knowledge and good local tips. The Whiskies are amazing with some rare and vintage gems. A 1970s Bruichladdich is one of the jewels in Andrews liquid crown. My room had a view up the Barle valley which was amazing to lie back at night and stare along. And the walk along there to Exford and Withypool is glorious. I wish I'd stayed longer. Or just got a job there and remained. Andrew is a natural and his team do him proud.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at High Cliff House in Lynton during our journey through the stunning landscapes of South England. Without a doubt, this was the most beautiful and inviting place we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we were spellbound by the immaculate decor and cleanliness that greeted us. Our room was an absolute delight - spacious, cozy, and impeccably neat. The interior design and breathtaking views from our window left us in awe. We could not have asked for a more delightful setting to unwind and soak in the picturesque surroundings. What truly sets High Cliff House apart is the warmth and kindness of the owners. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with anything we needed. We instantly felt at home in their presence, and their genuine hospitality made our stay even more memorable. Regrettably, we couldn't extend our visit as much as we would have liked, as we were captivated by the heavenly breakfast. It was a delight for the senses, and we savored every moment of it. Rest assured, we have already vowed to return to High Cliff House for a longer stay. It's a place that has stolen our hearts, and we cannot wait to relive the enchantment and create more cherished memories. Thank you, High Cliff House, for making our stay an extraordinary one! We wholeheartedly recommend this charming haven to anyone seeking an unforgettable escape amidst nature's beauty and genuine hospitality.

Great location, beautiful garden, exceptional service, great food in the restaurant and a surprise with a private garden for our room! Hands down, this was one of the best places we stayed in the UK. The staff was very attentive to details and we want to say a separate massive thank you to everyone in the Luttrell Arms hotel and restaurant!

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.

We walked to Lynmouth from Simonsbath; a really lovely 10 mile walk across the moor. Stunning scenery. The last 2 miles were hard, very steep coming into Lynmouth and beware the very very last bit of the path where you have to walk down a very steep tarmac lane which could be slippery...

Dulverton is a wonderful small town located in the middle of some beautiful countryside. There are all the shops you need with coffee shops, a fish and chip restaurant/takeaway and more. There are many car parks if you cannot find on street parking. As a solo traveller, I felt completely safe and there are lots of walks around the town to take a stroll with or without a dog. The river runs through Dulverton and there is a small area where you can sit and relax. It is very accessible to the moor and coast although if you are in a larger vehicle/camper-van, the roads are narrower. It can rain - and it did! I just enjoyed being back home and visiting friends and the old haunts. Just remember to pack proper footwear and a mac!

We booked the accommodation for ourselves and our daughter and son in law. As soon as we arrived the place and area looked wonderful. The accommodation is of a high standard with everything you need and it’s central to areas you would like to visit ie watersmeet, Lynmouth , Minehead. We were not that far away from Exmoor which was lovely to drive through and stop to take photos, seeing the wildlife was the added bonus. Where the accommodation was the Exmoor Inn offered food and drink, plus dogs are welcome. We were there the first night and had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and professional. We will definitely be back

the Notley Arms is in Monksilver, a gorgeous hamlet with old church (where Sir Francis Drake married) and in the foothills of the Quantocks for great walks. The hotel/pub is beatifully decorated and full of country character with stone floors, rugs, comfy sofas and a welcoming bar. Food is excellent and rooms are clean and welcoming. various villages and small towns are in easy access as is the harbour town of Watchet, Taunton and Minehead, if wanted
